If boredom, then with a view of the mountains. And from above, because here you will be at an altitude of 800 m above sea level.
You will enjoy the view of the Slovak Tatra Mountains (with Gerlach, Lodowy Szczyt and Łomnický Szczyt), Gorce Mountains (with Turbacz and Gorce) and the Pieniny Mountains:
– sitting in front of the panoramic window in the living room,
– resting on a deckchair on the terrace,
– relaxing in a hot tub with a jacuzzi, which gives the most pleasure in the evenings.
The view here is unlimited and unobstructed, because there are maybe 4 buildings on the horizon. Almost the same view, only a bit wider, from the observation tower on Mogielica, on whose southern slopes our cottage is located.
In addition to the view and places to admire it, we also have other pleasures for you:
– a gazebo with wooden furniture for common feasting and board game games,
– frequent winds that allow you to fly kites – one is waiting for you at home,
– a hammock hanging among the trees,
– 1.5 hectares of land and a meadow that we allow to be lush and blooming,
– a sky unpolluted by light, which allows you to remember how many stars there are in the sky,
– in winter, sleds can be used to slide directly from the terrace.
The trails begin about 90 m behind the fence. The asphalt green trail leads to Mogielica - the highest peak of the Beskid Wyspowy, there are also ski and bicycle trails (800 meters from the house there is a bicycle rental). Check the exact route of the routes around Mogielica, which are over 25 km long, at routemogielica.pl. One of the nearby bicycle routes is ideal for families with children. The entire loop is 21 km long. In winter, it is a cross-country skiing track prepared by a snowcat. In winter, the snowdrifts are waist-deep and you can jump into them straight from a hot tub. There are also educational and historical paths around Mogielica (they partially overlap with the PTTK trail and the running and cycling route).
We recommend trips to the nearby forest to pick mushrooms, walks in search of alpine orchids that can be seen here, as well as all kinds of trips during which you will hear and maybe even meet representatives of many species of birds and animals. The forested areas of Mogielica are a refuge for many species. Badgers, otters, dormice, wild boars, lynxes, periodically wolves, capercaillies, redpolls, as well as two species of woodpeckers: white-backed and three-toed woodpeckers live here. Nature is stunning here and is at your fingertips. Deer come to the meadow next to the house, and the autumn rut takes place 250 meters away. In the forest near the house you can look for sheds, i.e. lost antlers.
It is worth going to the Mineral Water Pump Room in Szczawa (10 km in a straight line from the cottage). You can walk along historical and educational paths in the footsteps of partisans and the Cichociemni, who trained partisans in the "Wilk" camp, located on the slopes of Mogielica. In nearby Słopnice, historical reenactments of Allied air drops for Home Army soldiers take place on the Dzielec hill in July. If you would like to see redyk (spring or autumn), go to Szczawnica, Obidza or Ochotnica.
For lovers of history, picturesque churches, old Polish manors, open-air museums and villas dating back to ancient times, we recommend the Wooden Architecture Trail (a map of all objects can be found at: www.drewniana.malopolska.pl).
