At a glance
I once had a PhD student from Edinburgh come to visit me and conduct research on mosses, lichens and ferns. She said that the microclimate created by mosses on my plot has beneficial properties for sleep. And in fact, I have been observing this for years. My guests turn off the lights at early hours and wake up extremely rested. Stankowice 100, the address where you will find yourself, is magical. On one side, the garden is fenced by a stream where kids spend all day wading in wellies and feeding geese. 100 m from here there is a charming church from the 13th century, and only one kilometer - the beautiful Leśniańskie Lake. Towering over it is the Czocha Castle, whose owners worked for centuries for the inhabitants of Stankowice, to which I invite you. Today, the settlement has a sleepy atmosphere, but the spirit of history still lingers here. So keep your heads and eyes open, but above all, come to Stankowice to have fun. As befits Lazy people.

Hi, my name is Maria and I have been living in Stankowice since 2007. I was born and raised in a large city, the capital of Poland, then I lived in London for several years, and finally I found my magical place in the small (although not small) village of Stankowice. The house I restored is a fantastic, old, 150-year-old stone building. The habitat is surrounded on one side by a singing stream and on the other by the mystery of an orchard with old apple and plum trees overflowing with fruit. In August, my guests and I mix pots full of sweet fruit. After years of living in smoky cities, I greatly enjoy working in the garden, the surrounding silence, walking my dog in the fields where local farmers sow buckwheat or wheat, and curious larks monitor everything from above. I was so enchanted by this place that I wanted to share it first with my friends, and then I started inviting guests from all over the world. I am an open and very spontaneous person. I really like sharing knowledge about this side of Poland with my guests, and I must add that it is a special place where Germans and Czechs have left their mark on their culture, art, customs and architecture.
