Here, in Dobro, it is hilly and green. And there are also endless meadows that dogs and people love. I am one of those people. Like many, I dreamed of my piece of land in Masuria, and soon I was lucky enough to find a habitat in Dobroszewo. In a 100-year-old house, where before the war the Masurians from my grandfather's great-grandfather lived, with the assistance of my female Mięci and my cat Edek, I care about my and your well-being. Herbs grow here, which I am still learning and from which I prepare mixtures for infusions. If you want, we can go to the meadow and pick them up together. There's a grocery store I've never had, and there's flowers I love. I'm still learning which ones are edible. Perhaps you will have the opportunity to taste their flakes during breakfast, which I will serve you in the morning. It will be vegetarian or vegan, local, smelling of freshly baked bread and buns. In DobroDomek, small but full of pleasure, I will host you three. In practice, however, all the good that will happen to you here is most pleasantly divided into two. You can go for walks together, bathe in the lake or borrow bikes from me and go far between the hills.
I invite you to DobroDomek. The good is 50 m², where you can rest up to 3 people: for 2 of you there is a double bed in the bedroom upstairs, for an additional person, e.g. a child, a sofa bed downstairs. The cottage also has a living room with a goat, a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower, and a terrace overlooking the meadows.
I encourage you to use the entire area of the habitat. I am happy to share the good from my vegetable garden, you will find here a place for a bonfire, and your child a playground and a swing.
2 pets live here with me: the female Micia and the cat Edek. Yours are also welcome, but it's good that they can get along with other animals. My area, located in the vicinity of meadows and a forest, is not fenced.
My recent guests asked me if I was a professional cook, and someone else mentioned that the breakfast baskets exceeded his expectations. I'm not a cook, but I really love cooking. I will prepare seasonal breakfasts in baskets for you and you will find something different in them every day. Fragrant buns, omelet with freshly picked buttermilk, vegepasta, home-baked bread, hummus, vegetables from my garden... I cook vegan and vegetarian, and a breakfast for PLN 40 will feed one person.
In the house you will find mixtures of herbs collected by me, e.g. mint or nettle. I will be happy to share my knowledge about herbs with you. I will tell you which ones are good for whom and what species can be collected in the meadows around.
It all depends on how tired someone is. I noticed that some people come here just to spend time and don't need much. They sit on the terrace, listen to cranes, look for deer... If you see yourself as such guests in a very slow way (because, for example, you arrive without a car and will be limited to the immediate area), I will tell you that you can here:
– go for walks along field and forest paths around,
– practice yoga on the terrace,
– take a walk to the lake a few minutes away (you can swim in it),
– read books on a deckchair,
– swing in a hammock between the trees,
– have a barbecue.
If you are interested in flowers and herbs, please ask. I like talking about them. Nothing stops us from going to the meadow together and collecting herbs for your own mixtures or putting together a bouquet. I can organize very small workshops for you. However, it all depends on the season. Most herbs bloom in May.
There is a place in Mrągowo, FeelHarmonia on Okulickiego Street, where you can go to practice yoga. It so happens that two of my friends work there, both named Iwona, and they can also visit you at Good Place. One of them will lead you yoga and offer massages, e.g. with warm stones, and the other one can offer you the Hawaiian lomi lomi nui massage. Such pleasures are available for an additional fee.
If you want to move around a bit and explore the area, you will also feel good here.
– There are beautiful, hilly bicycle routes in the area. Some people take two wheels and disappear for the whole day. I have 2 bikes for you, which you can rent for PLN 50 per day.
– This small lake, which can be reached on foot, will be perfect for a very intimate holiday (circumnavigating it by SUP takes half an hour of fun at most), but if you are looking for larger water, you can go to Karw (2 km), Kujno (7 km ) or Piłakno (10 km). Kujno is located on the Krutynia trail, so if you want to go rafting, nothing could be easier. You can rent a kayak, e.g. in Sorkwity. Piłakno, in turn, is a very clean lake that is pleasant to swim in and you can also dive in.
For those who do not have their own SUP, there are 2 available for rent (PLN 50/day).
The community of Masuria and Warmia likes to share its goods. What captivates me here is that during the season, fairs with local products and crafts are organized in front of some settlements. You can always hunt for something tasty. You may be interested in the Eko Targ market on the market square in Jeziorany, which takes place on Saturdays from May to the end of September, or the Targ Wędrowny Siedliskowy Wypas, which takes place near Jeziorany.
Taking advantage of the proximity of Mrągowo, it is worth visiting this charming town: walk the streets leading to Czos, look at historic tenement houses and visit cafes with a good atmosphere.
Besides, it's impossible to get bored in Masuria. Just take a look at these more or less mandatory points and decide for yourself what you want:
– castles: Reszel, Nidzica, Kętrzyn, Ryn, Olsztyn, Lidzbark Warmiński, Szczytno,
– "Hindenburg Line" – fortifications from the First and Second World Wars,
– The trail along the Dajna River, which is not as popular as the one in Krutynia, which means smaller crowds in the stream in summer; this does not mean that it is different in beauty from its competitors - the kayak route is 36 km long and starts in Piecki, and can take you all the way to the Marian Sanctuary in Święta Lipka.
– Krutyń – Natural History Museum,
– Near the village of Krutyń - the Zakręt Reserve - it is worth visiting, if only to see the floating islands with your own eyes; strain your eyes and look for the insectivorous sundew among the grass!
– Polish Gorge near Polska Wieś – it is located among arable fields, so crossing tall crops in summer may be difficult, it is worth planning a trip to the gorge in spring or early autumn,
– Peninsula and Mantis Bay on Lake Tałty,
– and the classics of the genre, i.e. the Wild Animal Park in Kadzidłowo with the iconic Oberża pod Psem: dumplings with plums, dumplings with groats and cottage cheese, beautiful areas of greenery, animals, and this interior! In the summer, there are crowds of families with children, so it is best to go to Kadzidłowo outside the season.
