Willa Ima could be the face of Kazimierz Dolny. It has everything that attracts unhurried tourists here. It is perched on the slope of the Czerniawy Gorge, where the river once flowed, and today the road to the town runs, and from its terrace it offers a view of the old forest around. It happens that deer or foxes will look here. And yet it's only 15 minutes. a walk to the heart of Kazimierz with its artistic events and atmospheric restaurants: the teahouse at Dziwisz or the idyllic garden of the Zielona Tawerna. However, before you go there, I will not let you leave the house without breakfast, because these, according to guests, are first-class. So that you have energy for hiking in the Kazimierz Landscape Park, they also consist of soup, and especially the summer ones, fresh vegetable creams, are worth mentioning. The interiors have an inspiring atmosphere, the warm light makes it pleasant to read books and talk, and while staying here you can really feel the spirit of this historic city. I have bikes for rent for you, and a sauna among the trees is included in the price of your stay. Come to a place where there is no rush.
In Kazimierz, you can relax away from the tourist hustle and bustle, as long as you know where to look. Our Willa Ima is located on the slope of the former Czerniawy Gorge, on an extremely picturesque plot. The Kazimierz Landscape Park stretches around it. We are surrounded by old trees, it is very peaceful and quiet here, and from the terrace you can sometimes see a deer or a fox.
Rooms and a guest apartment are located on the first floor. Each of them has a bathroom, 4 have a mezzanine. More details can be found at each of the objects.
The space where you can spend time together outside the rooms is a living room with a dining room and a large terrace surrounding the entire house.
At the bottom of the ravine runs Czerniawy Street leading to the town, which can be seen in one of the photos. Our plot is not fenced. Sometimes someone walks by wanting to get to the path up.
I serve breakfast so that you have enough energy for a long day of hiking and attractions. On the nearby goat and cow farms, I buy cheese: with herbs, ripening, aromatic. There is bread, vegetable spreads, local delicacies depending on the season. I also serve a hearty cream soup for breakfast. In the summer I buy fresh vegetables from farmers at the town fair.
For lunch or dinner, we can get along individually. Let me know what time you would like to eat - I will adjust the time of the meal to your day. Dinner can be meat or vegetarian. An example meal is puree or groats, fresh salads, lean meat or, for example, baked eggplants. There is no shortage of freshly squeezed juice.
Unfortunately, I will not offer you access to the kitchen, but if you would like to heat up some of your meal, I will do it for you. There are kettles in the rooms.
If what attracts you to Kazimierz is the artistic atmosphere and beautiful nature around, I can suggest you stay in a place that combines both of these advantages. The intimate and cozy atmosphere allows you to get in the mood before exploring the surrounding area. Solid breakfasts give you energy for the whole day, and when you return, a sauna among the trees awaits you (included in the price of your stay).
You may not feel like going anywhere, and that's completely understandable. You can choose a book from our library, sit on the terrace, look at the forest around. Have a barbecue. I also have bikes for rent if you dream of a trip on two wheels.
The recipe for a leisurely holiday in Kazimierz may look like this:
– you can go for walks through the gorges – two of them, Korzeniowy and Czarny, are located a few minutes' walk from KaZielnik
– visit monuments, e.g. the Franciscan Monastery, the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist and Saint Bartholomew,
– learn about the history of the Kazimierz granaries, which served as grain warehouses in the city's heyday – you can admire them from the Three Crosses Mountain or the promenade along the Vistula River,
– go to Miećmierz, a village called a living open-air museum, and admire the ruins of the castle in Janowiec, the village and the Krowia Wyspa Reserve from the Albrechtówka hill (right next to the windmill); from the viewpoint it is worth taking a walk to the ruins of Stanisław Szukalski's villa,
– visit the castle in Janowiec,
– get on a bike and follow the red trail on the Kazimierz Dolny – Wąwolnica – Nałęczów – Wojciechów – Dąbrowica – Lublin route, or just a part of it,
– pedal 16 km to the stronghold in Żmijowiska,
– go on a kayaking trip on the Chodelka River, e.g. Szczekarków Kolonia Mill – Kazimierz Dolny, approx. 13 km,
– sunbathe on a nudist beach (the beach is periodically flooded by the Vistula River).
There are very interesting cultural events going on in Kazimierz during the summer season:
– the end of June is the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers,
– mid-July – Kazimiernikejszyn, i.e. an event without a pin: not only musical, but also simply social,
– beginning of August – “Dwa Brzegi” Film and Art Festival,
– then "Wings over Kazimierz",
– beginning of September – Pardes Festival – Meetings with Jewish Culture Kazimierz Dolny/Janowiec
– in the summer months – Organ Festival, local products fair and many other events.
And if you prefer to avoid the crowds, come to Kazimierz after the season. It's intimate, charming and equally beautiful. Can you imagine these autumn walks among golden hills and gorges? Or winter evenings with a cup of tea on the mezzanine of our house?
There is a lot to do with kids in Kazimierz. You can play knights and princesses in the castle or hobbits going on a journey through a loess gorge. It is worth taking a look at the alpacas, because there is no one who would not love them. Big and small children will enjoy a visit to the Lego Museum, and all explorers will enjoy a visit to the Nature Department of the Vistula Museum. There is a playground in the center of the town. A nice attraction is also a ferry trip across the Vistula River to Janowiec.
In front of Willa Ima, there is a sandpit waiting for kids, and forest paths invite you to go up the gorge. We just want to remind parents that there is a street below and our plot is not fenced.
It would be most convenient to go to room 4, where there is a desk with a chair right next to the terrace exit. Other rooms have armchairs or chairs. Each will surely have a secluded corner, but if you prefer to sit comfortably at the table, you can simply go downstairs to the atmospheric dining room. Our internet is fast and flawless.
