At the very beginning, there was only a forest here. In the 18th century, the Olęders came to the area of the Nowy Tomyśl district and wooden homesteads flourished here, harmoniously intertwining with nature. Villages were established in mid-forest meadows, and individual farms were loosely scattered, far from each other. A little later, the basketry trade flourished here. However, before you start discovering the Wicker Trail, we will make an appointment at a designated place to lead you along forest roads, which Google Maps does not show, to a holiday home for six. We referred to the traditional surrounding buildings and located it on a large space, away from the neighbors.
We do not know exactly what the magic of the sky over Pąchy is all about. Maybe it's the endless meadow where we hid our home? Maybe the trees in his background that reach the clouds? One thing is for sure. Breathing in the air here brings relaxation to the mind and relaxation to the body. You will experience them first in a bright interior with an open space. The house made in the hexagon technology was created from natural materials. We had the words of Erwin Thoma, an Austrian forester, in our heads: one night in a house made of solid wood makes the heart beat 3,600 times less than usual. That's a whole hour of his work. Slowed down and relaxed, you will have space for coffee on the terrace, turning pages of reading on deckchairs, rocking in a hammock, trips to the lakes, evenings in a barbecue gazebo and eating cheeses from the Forest Farm.
And good nights, restoring vitality, under the sky that you will have here at your fingertips.
On the border of the Wielkopolska and Lubuskie provinces, in a village of Dutch origin, we have a house for you immersed in greenery, integrated into the surroundings and built from natural materials. It stands in a meadow, right by the forest.
Its bright interior is 130 m² and is designed for 6-8 guests - downstairs there are two bedrooms with joined beds, and on the open mezzanine two single beds. The house has two bathrooms, a large living room connected to the kitchen and a lobby, where you can work at a comfortable desk. In the living room there is a stove and a sofa and armchair with comfortable mattresses. 2 additional people can sleep on the sofa. On the terrace you can drink coffee in the morning, stretch out on wooden deckchairs with a book from the library, and in the evening light up the barbecue in the gazebo.
Our fenced plot is 6,000 m² and borders the forest. Google Maps already leads you to us, but we will send you directions. Next to us is an old abandoned house and a weekend cottage of neighbors. It is quiet and secluded here, and if neighbors come, we do not bother each other because the plots are really huge.
In our kitchen you can indulge in culinary delights. There is an oven so that you can bake blueberry muffins with fruit collected in the forest or make cheesecake (why cheesecake will be explained in a moment), there is a coffee machine to brew it in the morning and then drink it on the terrace. We have a grill gazebo and a hearth with a cauldron for you, where you can cook almost anything.
In Leśna Farma, 5 km from us, Agnieszka bakes bread and creates various culinary wonders. It also has its own cheese factory and its cheeses are delicious. You already know why we urge you to bake cheesecake. You can reach the farm along a charming road through the forest.
From May to September, every third Sunday of the month, Miedzichowskie eco fairs are held. You will meet local farmers, regional producers, folk artists and craftsmen.
oh boredom! We want you here, we celebrate you and we strive for a state when we enjoy blissfully doing nothing, staring at the clouds and accepting what the day gradually reveals to us. Carefree on a wooden deckchair with a book from our library? It's here. Curling up in a pretzel on a comfortable couch in front of a huge window through which nature looks inside? here too. Or maybe coffee on the terrace, which is overgrown with self-sown plants? We invite you! Also, be sure to go to the hammocks zone - their soporific properties have been empirically confirmed.
The house is located on a meadow full of herbs, right next to the forest. We rarely mow the grass, we like this natural state of slight chaos. You can make bouquets from wildflowers, and infusions from herbs. You can also lie down in the grass like on a mattress and forget about everything for a while.
We have a gate to the forest, through which you only need to go and take a few steps to fall into the arms of the trees. You must have heard about the beneficial effects of forest bathing, so let us just quote Katarzyna Simonienko and a fragment of her "Forest therapy": "Forest therapy can effectively increase immunity. It has been shown that a weekend spent in the forest can improve immune parameters for the next month." We have a house for ants near the forest, you can observe them and meditate, because this observation is very relaxing. We would like to add that in the season the forest is filled with mushrooms. The Nowy Tomyśl region is a paradise for mushroom pickers and we have an abundance of them in the season.
During your walks around Pąchy and Miedzichów, you will come across half-timbered buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, which are a reminder of the Olenders who lived in these areas.
Ascalon Beach is located on Lake Tartackie. There is a pier, a playground for children and a canoe and pedalo rental. There is also a swing from which you can admire the sunsets. The second of the surrounding lakes - Głębokie Lake does not have a guarded beach or many sunbathers. You will get there by driving 6 km, along the road leading through the forest.
In Szklarka Trzcielska there is a Forest Farm run by Mrs. Agnieszka. This is a place that brings fun to children (there is a farm with animals) and pleasure to the palate (you can taste the hostess's specialties on site). On the farm you can buy (and order) cheese, bread, butter, eggs and goat's milk.
The Miedzichowski Landscape Park covered by Natura 2000 protects the gutters of the Pszczew lakes and fragments of the valleys of the Obra and Kamionka rivers. You can meet there: great crested grebes, cormorants and gray herons. Butterfly lovers may see some of the numerous species found here during the day, i.e. morpheus sea squirrel, spaghetti pyrethrum, mourner's fairy or blue tit amandus. Under the pines, look for a colorful beetle - the eight-spot great tit.
There are forest bicycle trails around the plot. If you love two wheels, you will be pleased with 160 km of paths and bicycle routes. We recommend: the Bolewicka Pine Trail from Nowy Tomyśl to Lewice (34 km), the North-South Trail from Łowyń to Miedzichów (25 km) and Piach to the axis, i.e. Miedzichowski Paris-Dakar from Borowy Młyn to Chmielinko (22 km). Oxygenation with the aroma of the forest guaranteed
A few more recommendations from us:
– canoeing trips on the Obra river start in Trzciel,
– in Nowy Tomyśl there is the Museum of Wickerwork and Hops (the museum organizes basketry workshops and demonstrations of weaving and wicker processing),
– the aforementioned Wicker Trail is over 100 km long, it is a bicycle and educational and tourist route with interesting points available on the route (they are diverse and available on certain days, you can, for example, go to a show of sorting, tying and barking wicker),
– marking of the former border of Poland,
– eco fair in Miedzichów.
Our house is open all year round, in winter you can hide here, enjoy the warmth of the fireplace, crisp air and look for tracks of animals in the snow during walks.
What’s there for employees?
Come to workarounds! We have a lobby space for you (separated in the day zone) with a desk where you work with a view of the forest. Internet hula, worse with phone coverage.
