Pracownia Cieńsza is the center of the world. Probably not for you, but for my grandfather Henryk Musiałowicz, certainly. Who was my grandfather? Certainly not a pavers, as I thought in my childhood, although he brought stones from the forest and arranged them in various configurations on the plot. Later, he painted them, took care of them, and made a throne from a large boulder cut in half to observe the garden. Although he had his own summer house, he was not a gardener. Yes, he lived in harmony with nature, loved plants, planted sedums and spoke tenderly to them every day during his morning rounds. That's probably why they grow so luxuriantly. However, he was an irreformable man, a complete artist, a workaholic, a visionary. His works were exhibited all over the world, one of them ended up in Michael Jordan's collection, and he still couldn't get enough of it. He created paintings, totems, banners and spatial forms until the last moment of his life. Having lived to the age of 101, he never slowed down, although he himself repeated that "We are all roller-skating and we should stop." In this way, my grandfather predicted the slow living trend, although I understood his words only now.
It's time to share your artistic vibes with the next generations. In our habitat, we have a summer artist's studio for you, as well as two smaller houses, each with space for four people. They are full of art, antiques, attention to the smallest detail and fun with imagination. They are hidden among greenery, bring peace and closeness to nature and have terraces for blissful relaxation.
Pracownia Cieńsza can also be your navel of the world, let yourself fall in love.
Welcome to our habitat! On the premises of Pracownia Cieńsza (the entire plot is almost 9,500 m²) we have a lot of good things for you. Two small houses hidden at the end of the area, an old cottage that serves as a home for creative work and Jola's house, which is always there to help. A large house for 10 people can be found in a separate offer: https://slowhop.com/pl/miejsca/pracownia-ciesza.html.
The cottages are located on the outskirts of our settlement, surrounded by greenery, overlooking the forest and meadows, where you can observe deer and elk in the mornings and evenings. Each consists of a living room with a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and a mezzanine where you will find an additional place to sleep. They can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. There is also a terrace with a place to relax.
The houses are decorated in an artistic Cieńszy atmosphere, they are an expression of what is in our soul. However, they are not only beautiful, but also comfortable. Their decor does not follow generally prevailing trends, it is unique and filled with Musiałowicz's art and details found at antique fairs. Each of them has a soul and tells a story. We want you to listen to it too.
All buildings are located in such a way that this presence is almost invisible - they have entrances and terraces on opposite sides. Due to the fact that guests come to us for peace and quiet, we want everyone to feel comfortable, which is why we avoid organizing loud and boisterous events, including evenings. Sitting with wine, a bonfire and long conversations until the morning - YES, loud music - not necessarily.
None of the houses are fenced, so if you come with pets, be aware that there may be other dogs in the other houses.
We can prepare breakfasts for you with local delicacies from organic farms (goat and cow cheese, excellent cold cuts, delicious vegetables, honey from a friendly apiary and bread baked according to original recipes), but please inform us at least 4 days before arrival. We simply have to order everything because some of the ingredients are made to order.
In the cottages you will find everything you need for your culinary journey. Even though there is no oven, you will surely conjure up some delicious treats.
And if you don't feel like cooking, we can give you directions to nearby restaurants and catering with Polish or vegetarian cuisine.
If you want to take paints, pack them, if you want to take bikes, the road is clear, flat and completely passable. Pracownia Cieńsza is, above all, a place for creative relaxation and detox from the city, so you can do whatever you want. Even if it's lying down. Grandpa rested here among nature, tending the plants, drawing inspiration from nature, sitting on the veranda and watching the sunsets. His entire days were occupied with creative work. This place inspires action. You can write another chapter of a book or a poem here, you can paint a picture, make a sculpture, crochet, knit, meditate and cook.
Each house has a terrace, perfect for relaxing, reading or thinking. In the art gallery we have an additional space for relaxation, workshops or yoga.
The garden around is large, so there is a place to relax. We have deckchairs and several tables where you can eat a meal or drink wine in the shade of trees or in full sun. Or both.
150 m from here there is the beautiful Biała Forest, where you can go for a walk, jog, bike or mushroom picking.
There is also a beach on the Narew River 10 minutes away by car, where you can swim.
For people looking for places to visit, we recommend Pułtusk, located 11 km away, with the longest paved market square in Europe, a beautiful collegiate church and the Polonia House located in a castle right on the Narew River.
What’s there for children?
We planned for Pracownia Cieńsza to be a place for adults. How surprised we were when it turned out that the kids were having a great time with us. They probably feel this artistic atmosphere. They have a large area at their disposal, full freedom, space to show off, run, tap burnt pots and paint with their fingers or even their entire hands.
What’s there for employees?
There is a high-speed connection available for everyone who would like to work with us. Thanks to this, you can quickly do everything you need to do and then enjoy peace and quiet.
