If you feel that you are with most of the duties in the forest and you still can't keep up, and life is running relentlessly, maybe it's enough to escape into the forest for a while. Leave the deadlines behind and, regardless of the weather and season, hide in a house with large windows. Even for the weekend. Take a boat ride on the lake, sit in a tub, listen to the trees, smell the resin and light the fireplace on the terrace. In the morning, wake up with a forest outside the window, drink coffee on a sun lounger and read in a hammock. Go on bikes (they are also on site) and maybe go to the beach. If you're on your way, we invite you to the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, to the former Dobrzyń land, 3 minutes from Lake Skrzywlno. We have two cottages in the forest, for 2 or 4 people. Such to relax, do nothing, hide from the world. Who knows, maybe you will be able to find more elements of the golden treasure buried in the area during the Swedish Deluge.
In one of two cottages nestled among the trees. The cottages are situated so that guests cannot see each other. The plot is large (60 ares), forested, and unfenced. The cottages vary slightly in size.
The "Świrk" cottage consists of:
- a living room with a sofa bed (a fold-out sofa, not very comfortable, but it can sleep two additional people) connected to a kitchenette (table and chairs)
- a bedroom with a double bed (160 cm) and a wardrobe (the bedroom also has a TV)
- a bathroom with a shower.
The "Sosna" cottage consists of:
- a kitchen (table and chairs)
- a bedroom with a double bed (160 cm) and a wardrobe (the bedroom also has a TV)
- a bathroom with a shower.
Each cottage has a wooden terrace with a set of furniture (deckchairs, table, and chairs). Seasonally (depending on the weather), the terraces are covered with a sail. Each cottage also has a large hammock and its own private hot tub (with massage jets, lights, and air jets).
Our guests can order breakfasts and lunches delivered directly to their door. These are prepared and delivered by a local company, "Domowe na wyno" (Homemade Takeaway). Menus and prices are negotiated directly with the delivery person, Monika (contact details are available in a private message).
There's a chance you'll get bored. Do you still remember what it's like? There's a forest nearby, so you can go for walks, mushroom picking, and bike rides (they're available for you on site). By bike or on foot, you can take a short route to Podworski Park in Skrwilno.
A three-minute walk away is Lake Skrwilno, where we've arranged a rowboat for you. This lake isn't very good for swimming, but it's very well stocked with fish. For sunbathing and swimming, we recommend the approximately 7-minute drive to Polanka Urszulewska on Lake Urszulewo.
On our property you'll find:
- bicycles
- a boat on Lake Skrwileńskie
- a private hot tub at each cottage (paid)
- hammocks,
- deck chairs,
- a gazebo,
- a fireplace,
- a mini beach volleyball/badminton court,
- an open-air cinema (projector and screen) available for rent.
If you're craving contact with nature above all, you won't be disappointed. The region in which Szczawno is located is part of the Green Lungs of Poland region, encompassing unique natural areas in the northeastern part of the country. There are numerous lakes in the area (we counted 24). There's also the Brodnicki Landscape Park, with its lakes, forests, numerous bird species, and few tourists. It's an ideal area for long walks (e.g., with Nordic walking poles).
And once you've had your fill of time in the forest, in silence, by the fire, fireplace, or in the tub, remember that there's plenty to do nearby. What can you do? – go for alpaca therapy at the alpaca farm in Okalewo,
– go horseback riding at the Kasztan stable in Urszulewo or at the Pod Stara Podkowa stable (ponies for children),
– visit the KozieŁawy goat farm (you can buy delicious cheeses there) and the Lappyland mini zoo in Szczutowo,
– visit the Soap Village in Górzno and take part in workshops on soap making, cold-pressing oil, or… cabbage stomping,
– visit the Dobrzyń Land Museum in Rypin (free admission to permanent exhibitions every Saturday; they have interesting workshops for kids),
– visit the Museum of the Masovian Village in Sierpc (an open-air museum where you can see farmsteads from the 19th and 20th centuries in Masovia),
– see… the largest stained glass window in Europe – because it is located in Rypin, in the Church of St. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ – covering an area of 212 m², it is the largest religious stained glass window in Europe and the second largest in the world,
– take a trip to Golub-Dobrzyń, and visit the castle there or kayak down the Drwęca River,
– listen to a Chopin concert at the Chopin Center in Szafarnia.
Access to WiFi, a desk and the noise of the forest will give you the opportunity to work effectively, but we recommend taking a break from it with us.
