There is a place on the Baltic Sea that only a few have heard of. Where instead of inflatable smurfs you will meet horses galloping on the beach, and instead of a sea of screens - the sea itself. And although apparently sand is always better where we are not, this rule disappears in Sasino. It was covered by a moving, 32-meter dune in the Słowiński National Park? Kidnapped by bicycle wheels on the EuroVelo path? Or was she counting the stairs on the Stilo lighthouse? Although I grew up here - I did not know the answer. Anyway, I was too busy dreaming about a place where I could invite my own guests. This dream was finally fulfilled, dressed in walls and built near the forest, with the clamor of neighbors-cranes. Hence the name: Żurawi Las, i.e. three or 4-person houses on the sidelines of a seaside village.
This is a place for people who are looking for the authentic Baltic and will smile at the thought of a local breakfast served on the terrace. Are these you?
Żurawi Las is an intimate settlement consisting of three year-round cottages. The houses are located on a large, fenced plot. They are separated from each other at a distance that ensures privacy and freedom.
Each cottage has two bedrooms - one on the ground floor and the other (open) on the mezzanine. 4 people can comfortably fit here, although a fold-out sofa in the living room can be used for extra sleeping.
The cottages have kitchenettes, as well as a table with space for 4 guests.
We can prepare breakfast for you on request. We accept orders by phone (text message) up to 6.00 p.m. on the day preceding the day of breakfast delivery. Boredom in Kashubia is mission impossible! How can you get bored surrounded by forests, sands (beach and extensive dunes), lakes and the sea? Although Sasino is located slightly off the beaten track, larger urban centers are at your fingertips - the nearest one, i.e. Łeba, can be reached by car in 30 minutes.
We drop the Kashubian bucket list in the version for leisurely tourists:
- horse riding with Nicole in Folwark Jackowo (for more advanced riders - option of riding on the beach!),
- sunbathing (the sea is less than 6 km from us),
- 123 steps to the Stilo lighthouse,
- cycling on the EuroVelo trail,
- kayaking on the Piaśnica River, which meanders through the nature reserve to finally join the sea in Dębki,
- having dinner in the iconic Ewa invites restaurant (only 600 m from the houses),
- a walk around the Słowiński National Park, which hides the 42-meter dune Łączka (the name comes from the village that was covered with sand 300 years ago), footbridges around the Great Swamp, Łebsko Lake and fragments of a flooded forest near Czołpin,
- kitesurfing/windsurfing on Sarbsko and Żarnowieckie lakes
Like autumn, there are also mushrooms, like winter, it means empty beaches and amber.
Near the houses themselves, tubs under the stars are waiting for you all year round.
What’s there for children?
In Żurawim Las, a playground awaits the youngest. The cottages have board games as well as books for readers of all ages. There is a modern public playground about 15 minutes' walk away. Many attractions have been prepared on the Osetnik beach, which can be reached from Stilo. In July-August there is a "town" where tournaments in various categories are held. An additional pleasure is the possibility of swimming in one of the lakes or the sea.
Kids may also be interested in horse riding in Folwark Jackowo, kayaking on the Piaśnica River, cycling or a walk among the dunes of the Słowiński National Park.
What’s there for employees?
On sunny days, work can take place in beautiful circumstances, i.e. from the terrace with a direct view of the forest. When the weather plays a trick, the alternative is to work indoors, for which the table in the living room or the sofa standing next to it will be best.
