The traditional Masurian cottage dates back to 1879, when Otto Raffel built it in the village of Bieberswalde. His daughter Waltraud sold it to us when she went to Germany to retire there. She still sends Christmas cards to my mother, and her granddaughter Franciszka recently came to visit the settlement currently located in the village of Liwa, in the Miłomłyn commune, in Western Masuria. We ripped out the insides of a hut that was over 100 meters high and consisted of clay mixed with straw and plaster. All this to transform it into a house consisting of two idyllic bedrooms, a living room with a fold-out sofa, a bathroom with a shower and a living room with a relaxation area connected to the kitchen. Everything for six adults or many child-parent configurations. You can walk on the grass growing in the habitat barefoot, use it as a natural yoga mat or turn it into a playground for all kinds of games. Take the children to the sandbox and the wooden house, take a seat on the swing or in the gazebo with the stove, and treat everyone to a blackberry from the bush or an apple straight from the tree (although you can also eat apple pie). We recommend the cottage and Liwa for family trips, idyllic holidays with a hint of "grandma's house" atmosphere and restoring peace of mind.
We invite you to a traditional Masurian cottage dating back to 1879, where six adults or four adults and even as many children can rest (various configurations are possible, there are two double beds in the house, a fold-out sofa in the living room and the possibility of adding a baby cot).
Inside the cottage there are five rooms: a living room combined with a kitchen, two bedrooms with double beds, a lounge with a sofa bed and a bathroom with shower. The house has tiled stoves, goats and electric heaters.
The plot is very large, green (you can freely treat the lawn as a football field) and there are: a shelter, a place for a bonfire, a table with benches under a tree and a section for children with a sandbox and a wooden house. We have a lot of fruit trees and a vegetable garden.
The cottage is located in a very charming and quiet village of Liwa (yes, we have neighbors), the forest is at your fingertips, and the nearest lake is 10 minutes by car.
Can you smell the apple pie that just went into the oven? You will be able to bake it from apples growing on our plot. We also have plums, pears, gooseberries and currants, which gives a lot of possibilities when it comes not only to cakes, but also oatmeal and pancakes, although it is known - fruit tastes best when picked straight from the bush or tree. Also enjoy our vegetable garden, which is full of deliciousness. And for shared meals, a table with benches in the garden is recommended.
There is space for a bonfire in the garden, we also have a barbecue and a gazebo for you to feast together.
Liwa is an unusual village that will surprise you with its silence, peace and views. It is a village of forest workers, where there are no arable fields, so the idyllic climate does not come with any nuisances. Even though the house is located among other houses and we have neighbors, the garden offers a view of the open space and this view made us unable to ignore the offer to buy a wooden Masurian cottage, worth over a hundred. It is equally difficult to remain indifferent to the charms of Western Masuria, full of nice towns, historical attractions and places worth visiting.

What’s there for children?
The really big garden is great for playing ball. And running barefoot to feel like on vacation at grandma's. Because that's what we have for children - space, carefree and freedom. Swings and a climbing rope are waiting for the older ones, and for the little ones - a lockable sandbox and a wooden house.
