We are casting bait and hope that you will be persuaded to visit the Lublin region. We have several solid arguments in favor of this corner of Poland. Firstly, silence and space, secondly, the Poleski National Park, thirdly and fourthly, Uherka humming nearby and the Green Velo trail within the reach of the steering wheel, and sixthly, fish. Carp and trout. Fried, smoked, baked, in soup, in baguette, and in joints. We know fish like no one else, and we're just getting a doctorate in recreation. We have been running a family fishing farm and a restaurant full of fish for 25 years and we keep an eye on 10 hectares of ponds. We have Great-Grandpa Michael's Cottage, and now we have two more yurts above the water. They can serve as a place of rest and relaxation after another portion of trout in tomatoes and white wine.
The yurts stand on stilts by the pond, in a quiet part of our acres. The distance from the restaurant will allow you to rest peacefully, but on the other hand it will not let you go hungry. Come as a couple, with friends, with dogs. For a deckchair, for a bike ride, for stargazing through the skylight in the roof, for fishing. So, did you get hooked?
We have two yurts on the water. They stand on stilts above the 4-hectare pond. They are entirely made of ecological materials, mainly wood.
Each is 35 m² and:
– a double bed downstairs and two single beds under a spherical window on the mezzanine, accessed by a ladder,
– kitchenette,
- table,
– sofa,
– bathroom with shower.
In front of each yurt there is a large terrace where you can lie down, do yoga, read a book on a deckchair or go fishing.
The yurts have kitchenettes and tables where you can eat prepared meals. Let us invite you to our Pstrągowo restaurant, which is nearby - both for breakfast and lunch. If you are a fan of fish, you will find a feast for your palate here every day. Master fried trout, grilled trout with fresh herbs, trout in mustard sauce, fish soup, baked halibut, fried carp. Everything is fresh and first class.
We have been running the restaurant for over 25 years. Our short menu is based mainly on fish from our farm. We try to use the best local products. We serve beer from the Jagiełło family brewery, located only 2 kilometers away from us.
The Lublin region is a region worth getting to know better, because it has a lot to offer - nature, history, culture and, above all, taking your time. Our biggest advantage is the location. Our yurts are located a few kilometers from Chełm, on the Uherka River, surrounded by ponds and meadows.
In the morning you can count on the sight of fog rising over the pond. At night, you will be delighted with the view of the star-studded sky seen through a spherical window. In front of the curtains there is a spacious terrace where you can read books, do a yoga session, meditate or expose your faces to the sun. You can also fish from it. Our pond is rich in fish, including impressive carps that can reach over 20 kg
You can reach the guarded beach with a water park on the Żółtańce reservoir in just a 10-minute walk through the meadows or by bike along the bicycle path by the river. Not just any path, because it is a green velo route (the longest bicycle route in this part of Europe), which runs directly through our bridge. You can also stay put and lie on a deckchair in front of the yurts or cast a fishing rod. In Pstrągowo we have a carp fishery in the no kill system. If you don't intend to fish, you can simply feed our carp, which practically eat from your hand.
It's right under your nose, but a little further is just as interesting. Here are some of our suggestions:
– Chełm Chalk Underground – a labyrinth stretching under the Chełm Old Town, which is a remnant of the extraction of rich chalk deposits. The tourist route is 2 km long. While there, you can meet the spirit of the beluga whale, which is a guardian and a symbol of the underworld. Attention! Dress warmly, because it is cold in the underground, the constant temperature is about 9 degrees Celsius.
– Poleski National Park, where you can meet 48 species of mammals, 20 species of reptiles and amphibians and 200 species of birds, including cranes, great crested grebes, aquatic warblers, greylag geese, gray herons and cormorants. The European pond turtle also lives there.
– Czahara educational trail in the Polesie National Park – the only one leading through Bagno Bubnów. You will walk along specially built wooden footbridges rising above the peat bog. You can also climb to the viewing platforms and spot a very rare aquatic warbler or flocks of cranes gathering in the swamps before taking off.
– Spławy nature trail, which leads along footbridges through the horsetail forest. The wooden road will lead you to Lake Łukie, where there is a pier. The road continues along the so-called along the squire's causeway through a swampy alder forest, especially picturesque in early spring. The route starts in Załucze Stare near the Museum of the Polesie National Park, which is also worth visiting.
– The Pond Turtle Conservation Center in Urszulin – it is best to visit it from the end of September to May, when most turtles stay there. Usually, several turtle families also stay for the holidays so that tourists can see the turtles for which the Poleski National Park is famous.
We also have pond turtles that sunbathe at our pier on sunny days.
What’s there for children?
We have two sons ourselves and when traveling with them, we are always looking for places where our children will have something to do. That's why you will find plenty of attractions for kids. We have a fenced playground for children with only one entrance (right next to the restaurant). For the slightly older ones – a zip line. You can play mini golf together.
You can jump to the Uherka River, spread out blankets on the beach by the reservoir in Żółtaniec, and if the weather is not good, go to the Chełm Water Park.
What’s there for employees?
If you need to, you can work from the restaurant, but especially during the season, it can be quite noisy.
