We used to live by robbing trains. Well, maybe not literally. As newly minted Bieszczady cowboys, we organized integration events, the scenario of which was based on a horse attack on a passing train. However, these times are behind us. Today we live more peacefully. We run a small guesthouse in the Bieszczady Mountains for people who don't care where they sleep. Villejka is famous for its homely atmosphere and cozy atmosphere, and we, together with the good spirit of this place, Weronika, are trying to infect you with love for this wild valley, located between Kalnica and Przysłup. Our two greatest passions reign here: horses and art. I am an artist and conservator by profession, so I believe that aesthetes will appreciate natural materials in interior design and the rustic character of houses. We will be happy to invite those who deal with horses to advanced riding lessons. And we will recommend the surrounding trails to everyone else, serve home-made breakfasts with local products and encourage them to bike trips along the forest slopes. We are waiting for you with open arms.
We invite you to a cozy guesthouse in the Bieszczady Mountains, which we called Villejka - a small, eastern villa. Although it is homely, it is also very comfortable - like in a luxurious agritourism. There is an artistic atmosphere here: my paintings hang on the walls, and the house is carefully finished with natural materials: stone and wood.
There are 5 rooms in the villa, and you can rent one of the 3 on Slowhop. However, the house is spacious, comfortable and you can count on privacy.
Our land in a wild valley, dotted with streams and ponds, is 5 hectares in size. In addition to the Villejka guesthouse, there are also 2 cottages and 1 larger house for rent, a stable and our house. The area is forested, full of charming places, and we are visited by quiet guests. It is a place of unhurried relaxation. Our horses do not have direct access to the Villejka farmyard, which is surrounded by a wooden fence.
Breakfast in Villejka is included in the price of accommodation. Every day we prepare for you a platter with cold appetizers such as cheese and cold meats, and you will also find a different tasty addition in the form of a spread or salad. In summer, the plate also includes: tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, etc. If you don't eat meat, let us know and we will expand a meatless section for you in advance. Every morning, fresh bread arrives from a local bakery. Sorry, but we do not prepare special diets.
Our guests usually put on their shoes right after breakfast and hit the trails. Waste of day! The most beautiful trails of the Bieszczady National Park are only 3 km away. From the house, a marked path will take you to the yellow trails of Duży Jasło and further, depending on your needs, to Okrąglik, and from there along the border range east to Rawki or in the opposite direction through Małe Jasło and Rożki to Cisna along the red trail.
For less experienced walkers, there are forest walking paths called "stokówki". When going on a trip in spring or autumn, remember about good shoes, a hat and a thermos of hot tea.
Strzebowiska is a picturesque settlement located directly next to the Great Bieszczady Loop, between Wetlina and Cisna. It is located at the foot of Mały and Duży Jasło. In the village, pay attention to the roadside chapel from 1820, traces of the former cemetery and the tracks of the narrow-gauge railway that once ran through Wetlina to Moczarne.
If you need tips on what to see and where to go, you can catch us at breakfast - we will be happy to tell you what places are worth seeing.
If you are interested in wooden architecture, look for individual amazing gems of wooden architecture, the most beautiful ones are - Smolnik, Równia, Hoszów, Bystre and Michniowiec. However, the closest Orthodox church to us is the church in Łopienka. It is unusual because it was built of local stone slate and is located in a no longer existing village from the 16th century, 6 km from here.
A great experience is a ride on the narrow-gauge forest railway. We start in Majdan near Cisna - towards Przysłup or Balnica. Also noteworthy are the bicycle trolleys, the bison enclosure in Muczne, the cable railway over the Solińska dam and, for children, the forest zoo in Liszna. There are also plenty of bicycle paths in the immediate vicinity. It is true that they require some fitness, as you sometimes have to pedal quite hard on them, but the adventure is amazing and worth including in your trip schedule.
HORSE RIDING
Our intimate stable is located near Villejka. There are 6 horses of noble breeds living there. We will be happy to organize workshops or a field trip for you, but only if you already have experience - it will not be learning, but rather further training. We like to say that we help people get along with horses, teach them how to build good relationships, improve their seat and subtle way of communicating. We draw from different schools and styles of riding, although we are closest to the natural one. And if you want, you can come to us with your own horse: we have 3 guest boxes.
What’s there for children?
We are not very attractive to families with small children, but children over 12 years of age like us. Their playground is a stable and a riding arena - and let it stay that way. We would like to add, however, that we can only invite children who already ride horses to horse riding lessons. For all others, there are plenty of attractions in the area to discover with your parents.
What’s there for employees?
The rooms have desks, tables or sofas - you will certainly find a quiet corner. You can also work in the dining room or on the covered porch. Our internet works flawlessly.
