You know what? As of today, it's completely official to walk around with your head in the clouds. The best part is that no one can fault you. We even have the exact address where all this can be done. And with your feet firmly on the ground. So if the opponents of castles in the air happen to start hyperventilating, send them our way. To Podpoľanie. We have Cloud Cottages here.
There are two. We found a place for them at the highest point in our meadows and pastures. So you will be able to fully enjoy the view of the Low Tatras and Poľana, but also Cerová vrchovina, Šomoška and Mátra. Sometimes the horses from the farm of our neighbors can sneak into the view. With us, you can simply slow down, do nothing. And we wish you that your only "concern" with us is whether you will be lazing around with a book in your hand or where you will go on a hike. You will be accommodated in a room of four or five, but feel free to come and enjoy the romance as a couple. It's so nice here that we can't not invite you to our place... a sky full of stars, fresh air, or a pile of snow in winter. And last but not least, after the magic of Podpoľania and laz.
There are two cottages in the clouds. On one piece of land, in a neighborly way. But of course, with enough privacy. And as a bonus, you'll have that view...
Both cottages are identical, inside and out. The difference in the interior is only in small color details.
Well, inside it looks like this:
- living room with kitchenette (here you can find a sofa bed)
- a separate bedroom with a view of the hills and the terrace (double bed)
- loft (2 mattresses; we designed it primarily for the younger guests, so they have a place to sleep. Watch out for heads, it's low here!)
- bathroom with shower and separate toilet
- terrace (40m2)
We have also provided parking for 2 cars at each cabin.
Each cabin can accommodate max. 5 people each. So you can rent them individually or as a larger group (max. 10 people).
WELLNESS & TENNIS
We figured that when you're with us, maybe you'll welcome some other kind of relaxation. So you will have a choice:
- lounging on a deckchair with a book in hand or just staring at Podpoľanie
- relax in a heated tub with bubbles, which is in operation from March to November. In order to warm it up, it is a chore to let us know min. 2 days in advance.
- tennis court with artificial grass
Otherwise, all lovers of the natural power of herbs can purchase goodies for the care of the physical body, such as bath salts or herbal ointments. Alternatively, you can choose to visit our neighbors - Farm on the hills and stock up on herbal products right there.
Each cottage has its own kitchenette equipped with all the necessary appliances, so you can reign here according to the orders of your taste buds. If you would like to improve your skills, you will find a fireplace with seating, a grill, and we will also be happy to lend you a stew pot.
We will only add that you can also replenish your stock with our domestic or local products. For example, different jams, fresh and dried fruits, fragrant syrups and juices, different types of honey, but also herbs.
We have already mentioned the bathtub and the tennis court. That's what you'll find right there.
But since not everyone needs a deck chair and a good book in hand, or short walks around the neighborhood, we pack a few interesting tips in your backpack:
#cycling
Of course, two wheels! And we'll add another number to 2, specifically: 320. You can find up to that many kilometers of cycle paths in Podpoľanie. The most important one is the circuit around Poľana with a length of 127 km for mountain bikes.
#tourism
You will find several footpaths and hiking trails here in Podpoľaní. If you don't dare to do anything challenging, try the route from Hriňová to the Bystré Potok waterfall, which falls from a height of 20 meters and is a national natural monument. The route will take you to the mountain hotel Poľana and further to Príslopy. If you want to see the surrounding hills, head for the Katruška and Zbojnícky Tanec viewpoints.
#horse ride
Even lovers of seeing the world from horseback will not be deprived. We have great neighbors who have horses on their ranch. So if you fancy some horse riding, let us know. And take the children here for the ponies.
#agritourism
Not only here you will find an orchard with almost 300 fly ash trees. Our neighbors on the slopes are also good at what they do. You can go on a trip to an herb farm or to goat, sheep, horse or cattle breeders. Ask, we'll guide you.
#winter sports
Pack the sled and go down the hills. Want more? So we will provide you with information about cross-country skiing routes (Látky-Mláky resort) and where to go after the slopes (Zerrenpach-Látky resort).
#Hriňová and Hriňovské lazy
Lazy is part of the Poľana Biosphere Reserve and let's face it, everyone likes it here :) It is also worth taking a look at Štefan Nosáľ's wooden house in Hriňová - get ready for traditional folk culture and architecture right in the center of Hriňová. If you want to make your way here, we recommend that you find out if there will be craft workshops organized here. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to get infected with the bacillus of some disappearing folk craft :)

Follow the footsteps and history of glass in the village of Detvianska Huta. It will lead you through unique spa settlements with a view of the wild Poľana to the Mikuláš spring or up to the well-preserved glass tunnel for quartz mining.

What’s there for children?
Even though our cottages are more suitable for older children, you can safely come to us with the younger ones as well. However, you should know that the space here is not adapted for the little ones and you have to pay attention to them. And be sure to keep an eye on them on the terrace. We do have ropes here, but they are not intended for your Tarzans :)
Here we have it under the brand name: playing with nature and in nature. That's why you won't find any trampolines, climbing frames or children's corners here. Instead, take your little ones outside to collect pine cones and arrows, go wildlife tracking, mushroom picking, or gather twigs for a fire pit.
What’s there for employees?
If you want to work, we will not discourage you. It will be best for you at a spacious kitchen table, where you can comfortably spread out and have the necessary caffeine within reach :)
