Once upon a time, Mr. Sójka was part of a large rural farm. Later it became the summer residence of a Polish-American bon-vivant, a lover of art and antiques. Until finally, we took care of him tenderly. We didn't want to deprive it of atmosphere, which was not easy in the onslaught of new design trends. We bravely fought them off because we liked him the way he was. We fell in love with the 2-hectare garden, so magical and vast that sometimes we can't find each other with our guests. In order not to deprive it of its wildness, we mow only part of the area, and the rest of the grass is eaten by our horse biomowers: Kosta, Hassan and Fly. When you ask us why Jayka, we tell us that we called the house that when it was winter and jays were our most frequent guests. We didn't realize then that there was turnover in the summer. If we were to come up with a name in the summer, it could be an owl, a green woodpecker, and in the spring, a goldfinch or a wagtail. So far we have counted 27 species. I wonder how many you can count?

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Pan Sójka
This place brought us together over a decade ago. Initially, we ran constantly from Warsaw to Petrykozy (only 45 km). Finally, we realized that our heart was calling us to the forest. We wanted to be here every day, go out in the morning in pajamas with coffee to the garden, go for a walk with the dog through the field at dawn, cultivate the garden and pick fruit. Then the horses arrived and they tied us to the place even tighter. We gradually organized paths in the overgrown garden, which had not been touched by humans for many years, and became an oasis for many species of animals. Our friends came up with the idea to rent a house. They constantly encouraged us to go somewhere and they would take care of our house. Until finally we decided ok, let's do it and Mr. Sójka became. We are constantly visited by cool, unusual and unusual people. By profession we are associated with culture and art. Julka has a studio in Petrykozy and takes care of animals: horses, a dog, a cat and Mr. Sójka, and Maciek is a photographer and lecturer, who takes care of the garden and all the woodwork. We love various life and sports activities: Julka, loves working with horses, which constantly teach her something new, Maciek: a former tennis player, he still plays sometimes, he put skiing on the back burner because the glaciers are melting, the sea is far away, so the surfboard is in the garage . He fell in love with a brown bay mare, Costa Rica, gave up his old sports and learned to ride horses from scratch. We are happy to share with you our secret garden that surrounds Mr. Sójka's house, stories about animals, art and the atmosphere of the place.

Pan Sójka is a house surrounded by fields and forest, 1 hour from Warsaw and 2 hours from Łódź. It is surrounded by a 2-hectare garden designed 40 years ago, where you will find beautiful old trees. House has: on the ground floor: – kitchen with dining room, – living room with sofa, bookcase and exit to the terrace, – bedroom with a double bed, – bathroom with sauna and shower, on the floor: – bedroom with a double bed, – bedroom with a single bed, – 3 single beds at an angle in an open space, – bathroom with shower. The area around Mr. Sójka is very large. We also live here, but the seating area with a garden for you faces a different direction than our house and everyone has their own private space. Of course, we will be happy to answer your questions or provide advice. Our horses also live here and spend time in the inner meadow closer to our house. For their safety and the safety of your pets, please leave your dogs on a leash or arrange a time to let your dog loose when the horses are on the outside meadow. In addition to 3 horses, our dog and cat are also on site.

If you want, you can order sourdough bread from us (PLN 20 for a one-kilogram loaf), eggs from your neighbor and delicious goat cheese (just let us know before your arrival). If you would like to take a break from cooking, Bistro Żony delivers meals to us during the week. For PLN 28 you can eat a tasty two-course home-made dinner. To Wodna Osada, 5 km from here, we recommend going for delicious fish from ecological ponds (you can even catch it yourself!).

Guests who come to us usually have big plans and then spend time at home and in the garden anyway, they feel comfortable here. You must know that Mr. Sójka is a house of simple pleasures. In the repertoire: – coffee on the porch, – reading books from our library, – no internet and being offline on request, – walks in the garden and meadows, – swinging in a hammock, – sauna (1 1.5 hour session included in the price of the stay), – swinging in a hammock in the summer, – mushroom picking in autumn, – long walks with the dog in the forest (you can come across the former royal road – a cobblestone road – leading to Semyon's manor), – contact with our horses: you can hug them, go for a walk with them and listen to our stories about horse psychology. In the area we recommend: – kayaking on the Rawka River, – bicycle trips along nice road routes (we have 2 bikes for rent), – visit to the Dwórzno Vineyard – on weekends there is a tour with tasting, and during the Wine Festival on the first weekend of September you can listen to live music, have a tasting and eat something good, – diving in Deepspot in Mszczonów (it is the deepest diving pool in Europe!), – horse riding at one of the nearby stables, – visits to beautiful palaces: in Ojrzanów and Radziejowice (here for concerts and performances), – a visit to the thermal baths in Mszczonów, which are open all year round. Pan Sójka can also become a space where you can organize workshops (e.g. yoga, personal development, photography, art, music). We invite groups for such creative stays.

What’s there for children?

The kids love our garden. They call it magical and bury their treasures in it or look for them with imaginary maps. They also look for swings hung in different parts of the garden. They can interact with horses under our supervision, and when our pony gets a little older, we will invite them for rides. In the summer we set up an inflatable pool for splashing around.

Właściciele kontaktowi i chętni do pomocy. Polecam!
