In a word: romantico. This is the climate we have here: atmospheric, sentimental and dreamy.
Less than an hour's drive from Warsaw, on the premises of a vineyard located on a hill, you will find a hiding place just for yourself or for two. It will give you a view of the Sony Reservoir, called Zalew Nowomiejski, meadows and forests. This is a place for dreamers, history enthusiasts (because the stone and huge fireplace remembers the times of kings), wine lovers, bookworms, those who like water and a poetic atmosphere.
The brick Lovers' House will surprise you with its originality. It is designed for relaxation, fireplace, long sleep or no sleep. There is a sauna and a tub with winter water, a hot tub and a terrace with loungers. So you can immerse yourself in more than one place. I also suggest immersing yourself in the pond and the reservoir adjacent to the house. You can also go cycling to the railway bridge on the Wkra, go rafting from Joniec, and above all enjoy contact with nature. No one will blame you for that.
Less than an hour from Warsaw, in a vineyard on the Sona River, there are two cottages for two - a brick one and a wooden one.
The interior design of the Lovers' Cottage takes you back to the distant past, and the stone fireplace remembers the times of kings.
Inside, on two sides there are two mezzanines - on one there is a bedroom with a double bed, on the other - a reading corner and a library with a large selection of books (in Polish and English). Both are accessed by a brass ladder. On the ground floor, in one open space, there is a kitchenette, a shower, a tub with cold water and a stone fireplace. In separate rooms there are: a sauna and a toilet. Outside, on a large wooden terrace, there are: a jacuzzi, loungers and a grill.
The Winemaker's House stands on a stone foundation, dressed in green ivy, with its own pond and intimate beach. The interior of the house has thick, uneven, whitewashed walls and brick floors. Furniture made of massive larch wood is full of rustic warmth. Exposed, uneven beams on the ceiling remind us of old times and the work of previous generations. A tiled stove stands in the center of the living room, where you can cook meals and even bake bread. The sideboard is full of ceramics, delicate wine glasses and copper pots that shimmer in the glow of the fire, casting warm reflections on the whitewashed walls.
The bedroom, hidden on the mezzanine, has a large larch bed for two people. The cottage has wooden shutters.
The surroundings provide a break from everyday life. The 49-meter cottage is located on a pond, surrounded by greenery and the proximity of a vineyard. 1.5 hectares of our land with an orchard and vegetable garden lie on a hill - from here there is a view of the Sona River reservoir, meadows and forests. The vineyard has its own shoreline on the reservoir.
Due to the animals living here – a horse (which sometimes peeks through the fence), cats and a dog – I invite you without pets.
Although the kitchen in the Lovers' House is definitely not typical and is mini-sized - you can cook in it freely.
I invite you to feasts outside - hidden among the trees is a table with benches and a small table with chairs, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. On site you will also be able to use the fireplace with a grill.
In the Lovers' House located in the vineyard, you will feel comfortable alone or as a couple. Here you can:
- read books from a large collection - in a comfortable armchair on the mezzanine,
- immerse yourself in a tub of hot water and then cool down in the cold one inside,
- go to a sauna session. - sit at a table in the garden,
- light a fire and eat at a table among the trees,
- warm up by the stone fireplace. When night envelops the Vineyard, after a day of laziness with a glass of wine in your hand, you will relax in a hot tub, admiring the starry sky and giving yourself over to dreams.
In Winnica you can swim or kayak on the pond,
- walk among the vines,
- go mushroom picking in autumn,
- go cross-country skiing in winter.
On site, kayaks and bikes are waiting for you, which will allow you to explore the area from different perspectives. And it is worth exploring its nooks and crannies. In the vicinity of the vineyard there is the Sona Reservoir, where you can also kayak. On our side (in the hamlet of Nowe Miasto called Folwark), the shore of the reservoir is rather wild, and its surroundings are very peaceful - you can swim or fish. On the other hand, you can get to the iron bridge on the Sona, the dam and beach in Nowe Miasto and the railway bridge on the Wkra by bike.
You will find an organized place to relax on the reservoir from the side of Nowe Miasto, where there is: a guarded beach, a pier and a wake park with the possibility of renting kayaks and water bikes and doing water sports. The reservoir is located in a quiet zone.
In Joniec (about 5 minutes by car from Nowe Miasto) kayaking trips are organized on the Wkra (of which the Sona is a tributary). The start is possible in Sochocin, the finish in Joniec. You can also start from Joniec and sail towards Pomiechówek.
