When you do something with gusto and joy, you can feel it. This is doubly true for sisters Zuzka and Anička. Because:
1. they will not only let you spend the night in the kingdom of Liptov nature, mountain air and soft duvets, but also
2. they will feed you like kings. So, all you sweet tooths, be careful!

The aromas here will creep into your nose on their own. You will smell thyme, onion soup and French pancakes with salted caramel and blueberries. A venison steak will sizzle in the pan, and your taste buds will be delighted by the homemade semifreddo. They will pamper you not with dumplings, but with international cuisine made from the best domestic, Slovak products... And of course you can go hiking from here, rent bicycles and set off on cycling trails, in winter go directly to the ski slope or cross-country skiing, but who knows if all this time you won't secretly dream only of Bodliak's delicacies.

So: Look for a family guesthouse in Žiar pod lesom at the end of a dead end street... with 5 cozy rooms and one really tip-top restaurant with an unforgettable seasonal menu :)

Thistle is no juggernaut. On the contrary. We limited our dream to 5 rooms, and the only thing we later grew in was our love for food... namely, we added a restaurant to the accommodation.

OUR ROOMS
- 3 rooms are triple. You can comfortably accommodate four people here. Each of them has a double bed and a folding bed. Also, each of them has its own bathroom.

- 2 rooms are double - and have a common shared bathroom (but soon each will be separate)
One room has a double bed and a balcony, the other room has 2 single beds, one of which is a folding bed. This room is suitable for 2 adults and 1 child (although it is also our smallest room).

Nature is important to us, so we really try to do what we can in our daily operations. So, for example, you will find bins for sorted waste in every room, we use drinking water in the toilet, and you will find aerators on the taps. Add to that solar collectors, our own well, herb and fruit garden for our lemonades...
Quite a lot has been collected, so we will be extremely grateful if you support us in this action and join us :)

A RESTAURANT
Here we could compose and sing odes for you. First of all, to what is visible, namely food. If the season permits, we serve vegetables and fruits exclusively from Slovak orchards and gardens. There are several small herb gardens near our accommodation, from which we draw fresh herbs for lemonades, or many fruit bushes with raspberries, blackberries, strawberries. We have pastries from Mikuláš bakeries, we prefer eggs from local farms. And even though we cook international cuisine, local and Slovak ingredients play a direct role in its delicious creation.
In addition to a well-thought-out menu according to the season, you can also look forward to various goodies for beer, craft lemonades from the Slovak brand Herbert, or quality wines from family wineries.

BREAKFAST
We will treat you to breakfast. They are in our restaurant between 08:00 and 09:00.
If you are vegetarian, vegan or have a food intolerance, just let us know in advance so that we can prepare a suitable version of breakfast for you or replace what is needed in the dishes.

Let's start with what we have on site (except for the delicious food, of course ;):
- we are fans of board games, so there is no shortage of them here either - beware, we have more than 70 of them here!
- for all those who like to sit down with a drink with a good book in hand, our library is eagerly waiting here
- bicycles - for free rental for you, our guests
- and if you come to us with your own, there is a storage room - in winter it is also reserved for skis with porfi shoe dryers
- outside you will find a gazebo with seating and a charcoal grill
- and we also have a sauna or a pond where you can cool off

For those who want to see a lot, walk and roam, here are some tips...
(actually only a few, so don't hesitate to ask us about the others).

- CYCLING ROUTES: for example, the one around Liptovska Mary, to Vavrišov and Bobrovec, but you can also find a cycle route to Čierny Váh here

- TOURISM: 1.7 km from us is the entrance to the Žiarská dolina, from where you can go, for example, to Baranec, Tri kopy, Žiarske sedlo... or take the Tatranská magistrál. You won't even have far to Kvačianska and Jánská dolina.

- SKIING: you already know that the Dolinka Ski Center is around the corner. But if you are such snow-loving connoisseurs, we will also add this list: Opalisko - Závažná Poruba, Jasná and Malinô Brdo ski & bike park.

And do you know where else we will send you?
For example, behind the waterfalls (Šarafínový waterfall, Lúčky waterfall), to Medveda stólna and to the educational trail of Žiarská dolina or even to the old orchard above Stočice. Why? Because there is a chance that if you don't taste it, you will at least see something from the old original varieties...
