We recently became the owners of a more than 100-year-old house on the eternal summer island of Gran Canaria. And that right in its quiet northwestern part, which is not affected by mass tourism. Not only the picturesque port town of Agaete became our home, but now also a renovated house for 6 people. On its terrace we have a relaxing pool, a wonderful view of the ocean and only about 15 minutes walk separates you from wonderful natural swimming spots.
Since summer is here all year round, you can come here almost any time. Not only when it gets cold and starts to freeze here in Central Europe. And just because you're on an island doesn't mean you can't move, quite the opposite. Do not hesitate to rent a car and go to the south of the island for the Caribbean beaches, to the mountains or to the real desert dunes. If you want, you can take a ferry at the port and in 80 minutes you are in Tenerife, which you can see directly from the terrace of our house. Simply put, you won't be bored here - just that it would be exactly what you want.

Our renovated house can accommodate up to 6 people. We furnished it modernly and at the same time simply. It's the perfect base to return to after a day exploring the island or lounging by the pool.

We will be happy to recommend our favorite restaurants, advise you where to go for the traditional Ropa vieja or where to buy fresh fish, exotic fruits and vegetables.

The kitchen in the house is fully equipped for your independent cooking adventure.

If you don't rent a car, Agaete is well connected to the rest of the island by public transport, so you'll have no problem exploring all that Gran Canaria has to offer.

Some of our travel tips:
1. The town of Agaete with historic buildings, white-washed houses, the archaeological site of Maipés, Huerto de las Flores or Puerto de las Nieves.
2. Las Salinas natural pools (1.5 km) - three natural pools protected from the open sea. The lagoons are connected by lava tunnels, which allow for peaceful swimming for the whole family.
3. Roque Nublo (47 km) - a volcanic formation high above the village of Tejeda - this is one of the highest points on Gran Canaria, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the wide surroundings.
4. Playa de Guayedra (7 km) - a virgin beach with black sand surrounded by mountains.
5. Las Palmas (32 km) - the capital of Gran Canaria and its oldest part La Vegueta.
6. Anfi del Mar - drive around the island and head south to the beaches of Gran Canaria, which resemble beaches with beautiful white sand straight out of the Caribbean.
7. We definitely recommend that you also take part in some of the fiestas that are held on the island mostly during Christian holidays.
