A few centuries ago, on their way to Krakow, merchants wandered between the hills and valleys of the Wiśnickie Foothills. Today, you can reach one of its slopes, where we are located, from the capital of Lesser Poland in 45 minutes. And it's worth getting there, because even though there's not much around, it's the lack of stimuli and the lack of distractions that make our bodies and heads naturally go into rest mode. The process is made easier by: the proximity of the forest, glazing that allows you to look at the hills of the Beskid Wyspowy through binoculars and the apple trees growing here, the fruit of which you will have to share with the deer. People come to us for the star-studded sky, evening concerts of the green string orchestra and birdsong in the morning. And also for lazing around with a book, picking mushrooms and soaking your feet in the Pluskawce and Tarnawka rivers. We built two comfortable houses in a forest clearing with family trips to the forest in mind. It is a good idea to come here as a couple or as a family (with babies or older children who are not afraid of the ladder leading to the mezzanine) to enjoy the proximity of gentle hills, rock outliers and the reservoir in Łapanów. Time and the Forest are waiting for you.
In a forest clearing, away from other buildings, we have built two wooden and year-round cottages – Czas and Las. They are located on the slope of one of the hills of Podgórze Wiśnickie.
Let's start with the dimensions. Each cottage has an area of 34 m², plus a 12 m² mezzanine and a 20 m² terrace. The panoramic windows have a total area of 40 m² and provide a soothing view of the peaks of Beskid Wyspowy and the surrounding forests.
Inside you will find a large bed with a comfortable mattress, a kitchenette, a table, an armchair with a footstool and a bathroom with a shower. On the mezzanine, which is accessed by a ladder, there is a 160 cm wide mattress, which makes the cottage ideal for two, two close couples or parents with older children (7+). You can count on air conditioning and fast internet.
We have taken care to arrange the houses in relation to each other in such a way as to provide the greatest possible privacy (and so that Guests do not look into each other through the glass). The nearest inhabited house is half a kilometer away.
Although we have a penchant for minimalism, we made sure to equip the kitchenettes with everything necessary. You will find: a stove, a fridge with a freezer, an electric kettle, a capsule coffee machine and a microwave. There are dishes, pots and pans in the cabinets (there is also a flat pan for pancake lovers). On the shelves there are several most important spices, as well as oil and olive oil. We leave you room to show off your culinary skills or a convenient place to heat up what you buy in the store. During the season, it is worth going to the forest in the morning to prepare scrambled eggs with mushrooms.
The name of our place perfectly reflects what you will find here: a forest, a clearing, silence, peace and time that slows down to allow for deep relaxation.
The houses have spacious terraces with deckchairs, from which you can look at the sky in the evenings and listen to the crickets, and in the morning, with a cup of coffee in your hands, you can listen to the birds. Inside we leave you with binoculars, a selection of books and board games.
The surrounding forests, where you can walk endlessly, are full of blackberries, wild strawberries and mushrooms. Currant bushes and apple trees grow in front of the houses. Help yourself to apples, but leave some for the deer - it's their delicacy.
Our houses are located on the slope of one of the hills of the Wiśnickie Foothills, located between the Raba and Dunajec valleys. Two rivers flow through Tarnawa - Pluskawka and Tarnawka - you can wade in them or walk along their banks and look out for beavers. For walks, we recommend the rock outliers - Kamień Żółw on the Grodziec hill and Devil's Stone.
The reservoir in Łapanów with beaches, guarded bathing areas and water equipment rental is 10 km from us.
In winter, you can reach the nearest ski resorts in 30 minutes - Kasina and the Laskowa-Kamionna Ski Station.
From the houses you will have a view of the mountain with a characteristic "elongated ridge". This is Kostrze - one of the peaks of the Beskid Wyspowy (it is less than 9 km from us). The ascent will take you about 2 hours (starting at the foot, you can choose a more or less demanding route).
Half an hour will separate you from the largest castle in Małopolska after Wawel - the castle in Nowy Wiśnicz. It is picturesquely situated on the edge of a headland. The first cookbook written in Polish was created within its walls.
In less than 40 minutes you can drive to Bochnia and Wieliczka to visit the salt mines.
What’s there for children?
If time together and the forest are enough for you, you will find your place in our cottages as a family. We created this place with our family trips to the forest in mind, and the forest is the biggest attraction for children here. We do not have a playground or other typical children's entertainment.
As parents, we have certain ideas about the possibilities and limitations of the youngest and we believe that the steep stairs leading to the mezzanine and the steep slope on which our cottages are located can be quite a challenge for those who have just learned to walk and are still practicing the art of motor coordination. The cottages will work well for families with children who do not yet walk or with older children (6<span style="background-color: var(--white);">+).
For the little ones, we can add a cot free of charge (mattress size 60 cm x 120 cm).</span>
