You will have almost 21 hectares of water for swimming here, because the house surrounded by the trees of the Wigry National Park has its own shoreline on Lake Staw. Underground springs provide it with the transparency that is legendary. You don't have to believe them. Just get together as a friend, plan a trip with friends you haven't seen for a long time, or call your family for a holiday together and come see what it's like to kayak with your head in the underwater world (just wear masks) or try your hand at diving. We will welcome you in a white house with four bedrooms, where old bricks and thick wooden beams create an atmosphere, intensified by the fireplace in the living room, and all tensions are relieved by a hot tub on the terrace. I can become your guide in discovering the Suwałki region. I will show you the bicycle route around Lake Wigry, tell you where to sail down the Czarna Hańcza River, and in which restaurant you will be delighted with Tatar flavors, and if you feel like it, I will organize a massage for you. All that remains is to pack your bags. Direction: Gawrych Ruda!

– a bedroom with a bunk bed and 2 single beds that can be joined,
– bathroom with shower.
Additional sleeping places include two fold-out sofas in the living room. We can accommodate a maximum of 18 people in the house.
We give you the exclusive use of the house, so cooking is your responsibility. We have equipped the kitchen with all the necessary equipment, dishes and cooking utensils. Right next to it there is a large table with colorful chairs, perfect for shared meals (and not only that, it is also great to play board games at it).
To get to know the locals' cuisine, which is a refined mixture of Eastern cultures, go, for example, to the Tatar cuisine at Alik in Suwałki, where you can try cybulniki, kibiny, Crimean chebureks or azu.
In Sejny, at Karczma Litewska, you will taste simple, regional Lithuanian cuisine. Warm pig ears, broth with dumplings, borscht with kibinem, kartacze, pancakes with minced meat are just some of the items on the menu.
It is worth going to Gospoda Pod Sieją in Stary Folwark nad Wigry. The place amazes with the selection of fresh fish and crayfish. Check out the fish offer that changes daily. Ropes in cream are also worth the sin. The restaurant is open seasonally - from May to September.
The Suwałki region is intimate, peaceful and yet underrated for tourists. Thanks to this, there are no crowds of tourists or stalls. This region is a paradise for cyclists, fishermen, divers, mushroom pickers and even sailors. Wigry and the legendary Post-Camaldolese Monastery in Wigry are an icon, and this is just the beginning. The entire Suwałki region is full of lakes, forests, hiking and cycling trails.
Lakes
Gawrych Ruda is a village in the Wigry Landscape Park, bordering four lakes from the east, west and south: Wigry, Staw, Okrągły and Długie Wigierski. You will not only have one of them in view, but you will also have access to its shore. The descent is a bit wild for now, but that makes it picturesque, and Lake Staw is incredibly transparent and loved by less advanced divers (experienced divers move to Hańcza). When swimming on it, be sure to wear a diving mask. The forest path from under the house will lead you to a viewpoint with a charming panorama of this lake, and if you try to jump on the terrace, you will see two more nearby lakes - Czarne and Wigry.
Wigry National Park
There are 190 km of hiking and cycling routes and nature trails: Suchary, Forest, Płazy, Samle, Puszcza and Jeziora.
Canoeing
You can kayak across the Czarna Hańcza, which is the most beautiful river in the Suwałki region. The beginning of the trip is Lake Wigry, and the route runs almost entirely through the Augustowska Forest. We also recommend rafting down the Rospuda Valley.
Winter
The Szelment ski resort is several kilometers away. There you will find slopes, a snow park, equipment rental and try snow tubing. We are also close to a slightly smaller slope - Dąbrówka.
Other attractions
At WOSiR Szelment you can try your hand at water skiing.
The year-round Wigry Narrow Gauge Railway with a 10-kilometer route running along the southern shore of Lake Wigry (from Płociczno to Krusznik).
The "Around Wigry" bicycle trail runs through Gawrych Ruda. Antoni Patla, almost 60 km long (it leads around Lake Wigry and through the Wigry National Park).
What’s there for employees?
We have places to work - a desk in the open space upstairs and a large table in the dining room, but there is no wifi at home, so if you want to work from here, you must have your own internet.
