Life flows here at the pace of coffee dripping into the pot, to the rhythm of the swinging of the hammock hanging on the terrace and to the rhythm of Liwiec plumping right next to it. A few steps from its shore, there are three xs-sized houses, perfect for a couple, two couples, a family with a baby or older children and, of course, a dog. It's an intimate place to stay, out of reach, even though we have it here, to prepare coffee in three ways, to look out for moose and hares through a large window, to have breakfast on the terrace, to have a session in the sauna, to bike around the area, and to walk barefoot on the grass. By the river, you will be able to sit under a majestic linden tree (from Latin: tilia), have a picnic on the bank and go kayaking on a pontoon that folds up into a backpack, so you can walk back to the cottage through the fields. And during it, learn to distinguish the singing of curlews from the concerts of field pipits. You will have many more possibilities, because small is not only beautiful, but also surprising. Leave everyday matters to your own devices and come to relax in as many ways as you want.
You will sleep on the Liwiec River, in one of the cozy houses, size xs. However, 25 m² was enough to fit:
– two double beds (one at the entrance level, the other on the mezzanine, accessed by stairs),
– a small sofa,
– kitchenette and high table,
– lots of functional storage compartments,
– bathroom with shower.
Each cottage is heated and year-round, and also has air conditioning. In front there is a covered terrace with a large table and a hammock. You will be just a few steps away from the river. Each plot has special protection to prevent dogs from visiting, e.g. the house next door.
Additionally:
- there is a sauna in the Tilio house,
- in the Dolce Vita house there is a playing field and a foldable inflatable kayak and pontoon,
- and in the O Sole Mio house there is a hot tub.
All three cottages have their own kitchenettes.
You will find: an induction hob, a fridge, a set for making coffee in 3 ways and everything necessary to prepare meals. There is a large table with chairs on the covered terrace. We also recommend picnics by the river.
Isn't it good to come somewhere just to experience boredom? In the city it usually doesn't threaten us. And boredom means looking into yourself, staying in silence and in nature, space for deep, slow breaths and time for everything.
Here, in Seklak, you will be comfortably accommodated in 3 houses overlooking the greenery. Liwiec, who is swimming nearby, will invite you to wade in the water and take a trip on our kayak pontoon (which folds into a backpack, so you can start from us, swim the selected distance, and then come back with him on your back through the fields - note: the kayak pontoon is available to guests of the Dolce Vita cottage). , picnicking on the grass, lighting a small fire in a designated place and watching the sunsets from behind the trees on the other bank. The coastline is ours and after crossing the gate, you will be just a few steps away. We decided not to fence this area, so it may happen that sometimes someone will pass there while walking along the shore or river.
It's worth getting up in the morning and looking out the large window before having your first cup of coffee. Perhaps you will be able to spot herds of deer or wild boars walking nearby. Maybe a moose will also visit you, although more often you can see hares hopping along the river bank and an otter lying in the sun by the water. In the evenings, we recommend sessions in the spruce sauna (followed by immersion in a barrel or cooling down in the river), swinging in a hammock and having dinner on the terrace.
On both sides of the Liwiec there are vast meadows and pastures, pine groves, riparian, alder and alder-ash forests, and moraine hills. The surroundings are perfect for walks. Bicycles are also available on site. You can simply move forward or take a look at the bicycle routes around the Bug Landscape Park.
If you would like to go further and go on an organized rafting trip on the Liwiec River, there are several routes to choose from. Examples:
– 15-kilometer route Sekłak – Strachów (rafting time: 3-4 h),
– 10-kilometer route Zawiszyn – Strachów (rafting time approx. 2 hours),
– 6-kilometer route Urle – Strachów (rafting time approx. 1.5 h).
In autumn, we invite you for long walks in the forests surrounding us, which are a paradise for those who love picking berries or mushrooms. It is also worth going to the surrounding forests to listen to the concerts of teals, curlews, herons and field pipits. The Liwiec Valley is a refuge for many birds: ortolans, woodpeckers, grebes, bluethroats, kingfishers, common terns, corncrakes, black storks and many, many others. Our house is a great place for birdwatching enthusiasts.
What’s there for children?
We don't have any special attractions for children, but we have two double beds inside the houses, so it's a good destination for family trips. It will be perfect especially for those in which babies will take part. Little ones can set up a rocking chair on the terrace, a tent in the garden, and our grass can become a great mat for lying or crawling on. Older children will certainly appreciate the proximity of the river, the kayak pontoon (available in the Dolce Vita house) and plenty of space for running.
What’s there for employees?
If you don't mind working from your bed, sofa or terrace, you can work with us. The Internet is fast, you can hold online meetings and deal with all necessary matters.
