In 1859, he saw the light of day - in beautiful Turci, not far from Kláštorské luk and Veľká Fatra - a farmyard. It was originally a low, one-story building, built by the road, as was once the custom in villages. When the cottage came to my husband's family, a fence was added to it, separating it from the outside world, so that another could be created behind it - yours, private. And after a few years, we decided to properly renovate it.
We used wood from old castles (also with the original inscription) in the interior - for a bench under the windows, where you can lounge with a book, for tables under the sinks, or bathroom doors. We stubbornly kept the painting by Fer Kalina, which dominated the floor, and subordinated our entire renovation to it. Some old pieces of furniture came back into play and we gave them a new look with colors. And even though the cottage is in new clothes, we tried to preserve its rural spirit so that you feel comfortable here. Come on, behind our gate you will find not only a cottage and a huge garden, but also another world and complete well-being.

Hi, I'm Silvia. I moved to and fell in love with Turco almost 20 years ago. Those undulating meadows and fields surrounded by the walls of Veľká and Mala Fatra, those walks, hikes, views and history at every corner... I studied tourism and have been working in it since my student days and I still enjoy it :) I just from hotels, apartments and restaurants to our cottage. She is over 160 years old and has been part of her husband's family for 30 years. My husband's father created a wonderful place from the garden around it, and two years ago we decided to renovate the cottage as well. But so that we preserve her spirit. to combine the old and magical with the new and comfortable. We considered every piece of furniture, had it made from old wood (e.g. from the old beams of the cottage:) and we also left the original inscription about the year of its foundation in the interior. We renovated it more or less by ourselves, I painted every piece of wood (yes, even the entire cladding of the facade :) with my own hands, I learned how to patina old furniture, we had clay plasters made, wooden floors on grates, my husband made stone windowsills, a worktop in kitchens, bathrooms and we mainly used natural materials. And I think we succeeded in creating a place full of well-being, a cottage (not a cottage) surrounded by a wonderful garden. And I will be happy if I can introduce this place to you too :)
