The first crude oil in the Low Beskids flowed 1.5 km from our yurts. The Gorlice region has a rich history of the oil industry and Ignacy Łukasiewicz, the inventor of the kerosene lamp, came from Gorlice. Today, an educational trail runs through Puste Pole, the site of the first oil mine in our commune. This is not the only historical clue that may interest you. You will find yourself in the Lemko region, and if you want, we will invite you on a trip along the trail of former Lemko villages. Local and much further travels are our greatest passion. It was from our trip to Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia that we brought the idea for yurts in our beloved Owczary. Their round structure has something magical about it, allowing you to relax and create a cozy atmosphere. To complete it, we equipped our yurts with furniture made from boards after the demolition of nearby barns. We invite you on an exotic journey quite close: to a wild, forest clearing surrounded by trees and the fascinating history of the Low Beskids.
We invite you to our 2 yurts in a forest clearing in the Low Beskids. This is a place where you can count on absolute peace, quiet and natural surroundings.
Each yurt has:
– 2-person bed on the ground floor,
– 2 single sleeping places on the mezzanine,
– well-equipped kitchenette,
– table for 4 people,
– 2 armchairs,
– bathroom with shower,
– terrace with deckchairs.
The yurts are year-round, heated in winter by a goat.
There is also a summer swimming pool on the plot, and a sauna among the trees above.
Our house is located on the ground above the yurts, separated by a strip of forest, so if you need directions and help, remember that we are there.
The small kitchenette is well-equipped so that you can cook on-site. If you prefer to eat in a restaurant, a short car trip will take you to several restaurants. We will advise you where to buy delicious cheese, honey and eggs at the shepherd's.
We invite people who want deep rest in the middle of the forest. Yurts in Polana are primarily for those who value peace, intimacy and closeness to nature.
There are several simple ways to relax on the plot: a barbecue area surrounded by trees and a swimming pool that will pleasantly cool you down in the summer. We recommend afternoons and mornings on the terraces of yurts overlooking the forest - it's great to do yoga there or relax on the terrace with a book. There will be a story about the Lemko region waiting for you there, and there are guides that will help you plan trips to the Low Beskids.
In the forest above the yurts, we built a sauna, the structure of which is made of boards from the demolition of old nearby barns. They create a unique atmosphere in our sauna. Right next to the sauna, there is a spring with crystal-clear, cool water in which you can cool down after the session. The cost of the session is PLN 200.
We travel professionally, we are also passionate about our region, so we would be happy to invite you on a field trip along the trail of ancient Lemko villages. We will also visit Zagroda Maziarska in Łoś, and if you feel like it, we will go to a friendly shepherd to buy oscypek cheese. Just let us know in advance that you would be interested in such a trip.
The blue trail to Ubocz and Huszcza begins near the yurts, reaching Magura Małostowska.
The Puste Pole nature and historical trail in Sękowa follows the global history of the oil industry, which was born in this place. Along the way you may encounter former oil wells.
Gorlice
It was in Gorlice that Ignacy Łukasiewicz, explorer, pharmacist and oil pioneer lived. The world's first street kerosene lamp was erected here. Here you can visit the Magdalena Oil Industry Open-Air Museum. And these are just some of the interesting facts about this city! The urban layout from the 14th century, the Karwacjan Manor, several war cemeteries, architecturally interesting churches and the Długosz Palace - there is something to see here.
What’s there for children?
In the summer we set up a swimming pool, which all children love. In winter you can go sledding and roll in the snow. A trip to the yurts is always a great adventure for kids, because you can pretend that you are on vacation on the Mongolian steppe and come up with lots of games.
Only 3 km from here there is a historical sensory park in Siary, which can be a lot of fun, especially for younger kids.
What’s there for employees?
Working from a yurt? Why not. In such circumstances, a person immediately becomes more efficient because he can move his legs to go to the forest or warm up in the sauna. We have fast internet that works even on the terrace, and in the yurts you can sit with a laptop in an armchair or at a table with a bench.
