This house could be called something else. It could be the Baker's House, because there is a bread oven in it. It didn't have a door and the chimney was clogged, but today you can bake bread in it again. It could have a German name - a testimony to its history dating back to around 1820. But none would be as appropriate for a house that was never to exist as Good Stories. Their story began with the purchase of a plot of land in ruins that was scheduled for demolition. The turning point was reached when, after signing the notarial deed, I looked inside and was so impressed by the beauty of the old architecture that I decided to undertake the third renovation in my life. I am proud of her reverence and after 4 years, when the ruin became a house with a rustic interior filled with books, a dining room for meetings at a large table, a bathtub in one of the bathrooms and four comfortable bedrooms, I invite you to create a continuation of the story. You can come here with a team of 10, hide in the orchard, warm up in a tub, walk in the meadows, look at brown cows, discover the secrets of Czocha Castle, talk until late at night on the porch or by the fire. I will provide you with a basket of delicacies for breakfast, and for dinner I will invite you to my own restaurant. Good Stories are made when there is time. There is enough for everything here.

Dobre Historie is one of the oldest houses in Stankowice, a picturesque village located near Lake Leśniańskie, in the northern part of the Jizera Foothills, near the Czocha Castle. A bit like the end of the world.

In the 250 m² interior, you will find:
– on the first floor, accessed by a sandstone staircase: four bedrooms with double beds that can be separated.
– relaxation spaces with sofas and armchairs,
– two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower,
– spacious, fully equipped kitchen,
– dining room with a large table,
– a room with a functional bread oven.
- a barn with a separate entrance, a huge table and a mezzanine for relaxation.
Also waiting for you on site: a huge garden with an orchard, a covered porch with a table, a fireplace, a barbecue and a hot tub.

When restoring the house, we tried to preserve and highlight its architectural values. Wherever possible, you will see stone walls, wooden beams or sandstone stairs. There is also an ancient bread oven.

We invite you, even in groups of 10 people of family or friends, to create Good Stories here.

You can also create Good Stories in the large kitchen, where cooking is delicious. And then enjoy your culinary exploits at the large dining room table. If you don't like cooking when you're away, you can order breakfast baskets in which you will find: home-baked fresh bread, farm eggs, cottage cheese from Stankowice, cold meat, yellow cheese, vegetables, butter, homemade jam and other delicacies. You can also eat them on the porch or at the huge table in the adjacent part of the barn.

Only 5 km from Dobry Historii, there is a regional restaurant I run - Zielony Piec. You can come there for other meals. If you decide to visit it, there will be a small bonus waiting for you there.

A bit at the end of the world, and certainly away from its noise, in a picturesque chain village that stretches over 3 km, there is a house that has been given a new life. The meticulous renovation, which preserved the best features and gave the house a rustic atmosphere, lasted 4 years. Today, you will find spacious interiors designed for relaxation, which you can enjoy in super comfortable beds, corners with sofas and at shared tables.

You will be able to donate here:
– catching your breath in a huge garden with an orchard,
– staring at the clouds and at the brown cows grazing in the meadows,
– discovering field paths,
– reading books on a deckchair or in one of the cozy nooks in the interior,
– tub baths,
– feasting on the porch,
–sitting by the fire or fireplace

I will be happy to show you my favorite paths leading through meadows and forests, pastures where goats, sheep, horses and fallow deer graze, the ruins of the hunting lodge of Ernst Gütschow - the last owner of Czocha Castle, a gravel route leading to Świeradów-Zdrój, a stud farm with Polish horses. and favorite, less known viewpoints.

If you want to get to know the Valley of Pearls better, which I sincerely encourage you to do, you can:
– go to Lake Złotnickie to walk around it (the walk will be 12 km long), see the Złotnicka Dam or rent a boat or kayak to swim on the lake,
– go rafting on Lake Leśniańskie or rafting down the Kwisa River,
– go to the Perkuna Cone (a point on the trail of extinct volcanoes),
– climb (or ride a bike) to the Słupiec basalt viewpoint, from which you will be able to admire the Jizera Foothills,
– visit castles: the nearest one: Czocha, but also: Rajsko, Gryf and the castle in Świecie, you can also go on a trip to the Czech Republic to see the Frydlant Castle there,
- visit Prague, Dresden, the Rock City or Saxon Switzerland with a guide,
– visit Szklarska Poręba, Świeradów-Zdrój or Jelenia Góra,
– take a walk, ride a bike or use Nordic walking poles to the Orle Skały viewing point, from which there is a view of the Jizera Mountains and the Kwisa Valley,
– get active on Czech singletracks in Świeradów Zdrój or Novy Mesto pod Smrek,
– walk across the stone bridge on the Kwis River in Gryfów Śląski.

There is a lot of fun for children here. Roaming around in the garden as much as you want, tasting apples straight from the trees and going on trips to get to know the area. There are beautiful bicycle routes around, forests full of mushrooms during the season, flowery meadows visited by various birds, brown cows, horses at a nearby stud farm, and the Czocha Castle, waiting to be discovered, also during a night tour.

We will give peace and quiet to those who want to work at Good Stories. We have quite a lot of places where you can sit down to work, you can choose a common space, i.e. a dining room, a table on the terrace or sit at a desk in the bedroom. However, it's good to have your own Internet, because ours is not the speed master.
