This house could be called something else. It could be the Baker's House, because there is a bread oven in it. It didn't have a door and the chimney was clogged, but today you can bake bread in it again. It could have a German name - a testimony to its history dating back to around 1820. But none would be as appropriate for a house that was never to exist as Good Stories. Their story began with the purchase of a plot of land in ruins that was scheduled for demolition. The turning point was reached when, after signing the notarial deed, I looked inside and was so impressed by the beauty of the old architecture that I decided to undertake the third renovation in my life. I am proud of her reverence and after 4 years, when the ruin became a house with a rustic interior filled with books, a dining room for meetings at a large table, a bathtub in one of the bathrooms and four comfortable bedrooms, I invite you to create a continuation of the story. You can come here with a team of 10, hide in the orchard, warm up in a tub, walk in the meadows, look at brown cows, discover the secrets of Czocha Castle, talk until late at night on the porch or by the fire. I will provide you with a basket of delicacies for breakfast, and for dinner I will invite you to my own restaurant. Good Stories are made when there is time. There is enough for everything here.

Dobre Historie is one of the oldest houses in Stankowice, a picturesque village located near Lake Leśnia, in the northern part of the Jizera Foothills, near Czocha Castle. It feels a bit like the end of the world.

In the 300 m² interior, you'll find:
– Upstairs, accessed by a sandstone staircase: four bedrooms with double beds that can be separated.
– In the attic: an additional open-plan bedroom for 2-4 people.
– Relaxation areas with sofas and armchairs.
– Two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and shower, the other with a shower.
– A spacious, fully equipped kitchen.
– A dining room with a large table.
– A room with a working bread oven.
– A barn with a separate entrance, a large table, and a mezzanine for relaxation.

On-site amenities include a unique rustic sauna, a wood-burning hot tub, a vast garden with an orchard, a covered terrace with a table, a hammock, a fire pit, a grill, and a hot tub.

During the house's restoration, we strived to preserve and enhance its architectural features. Where possible, you'll see stone walls, wooden beams, and sandstone stairs. There's also a centuries-old bread oven.

You can also create Good Stories in the spacious kitchen, where the cooking is exquisite. Then, enjoy your culinary exploits at the large dining table. For breakfast, we'll deliver our breakfast baskets, which include homemade fresh bread, farm eggs, cottage cheese from Stankowice, cold cuts, yellow cheese, vegetables, butter, homemade preserves, and other delicacies. You can also enjoy them in the garden or at the large table in the adjacent barn.

A bit on the edge of the world, and certainly far from its hustle and bustle, in a picturesque chain-link village stretching over 3 km, stands a house that has been given a new lease of life. A meticulous renovation lasted four years, preserving the best of its original features and giving the house a rustic feel. Today, you'll find spacious interiors designed for relaxation, which you can enjoy in super-comfortable beds, sofa nooks, and communal tables. Here you can indulge in:
– catching your breath in the vast garden with an orchard,
– gazing at the clouds and brown cows grazing in the meadows,
– exploring the field paths,
– reading books on a lounger or in one of the cozy nooks inside,
– bathing in the tub,
– feasting on the porch,
– sitting by the fire or fireplace

I'd be happy to show you my favorite paths leading through meadows and forests, pastures grazed by goats, donkeys, sheep, horses, and fallow deer, the ruins of the hunting lodge of Ernst Gütschow – the last owner of Czocha Castle, the gravel route leading to Świeradów-Zdrój, the stud farm with Polish ponies, and my favorite, lesser-known viewpoints.

If you'd like to explore the Valley of Pearls better, which I sincerely encourage you to do, you can:
– go to Lake Złotnickie to walk around it (the walk will be 12 km long), see the Złotnicka Dam, or rent a boat or kayak to paddle on the lake,
– go rafting on Lake Leśniańskie or down the Kwisa River,
– hike to the Perkuna Cone (a point on the Trail of Extinct Volcanoes),
– climb (or bike) to the basalt Słupiec viewpoint, from which you can admire the Jizera Foothills,
– visit castles: the nearest one is Czocha, but also: Rajsko, Gryf, and the castle in Świecie. You can also take a trip to the Czech Republic to see Frydlant Castle, - Take a guided tour of Prague, Dresden, the Rock City, or Saxon Switzerland,
- Visit Szklarska Poręba, Świeradów-Zdrój, or Jelenia Góra,
- Walk, bike, or Nordic walk to the Orle Skały viewpoint, which offers views of the Jizera Mountains and the Kwisa Valley,
- Experience some sporty fun on Czech singletrack trails in Świeradów-Zdrój or Nove Mesto pod Smrekiem,
- Walk across the stone bridge over the Kwisa River in Gryfów Śląski.

These are just a few ideas for spending time here. A catalog of all the attractions will be waiting for you on site.

There is a lot of fun for children here. Roaming around in the garden as much as you want, tasting apples straight from the trees and going on trips to get to know the area. There are beautiful bicycle routes around, forests full of mushrooms during the season, flowery meadows visited by various birds, brown cows, horses at a nearby stud farm, and the Czocha Castle, waiting to be discovered, also during a night tour.

We will give peace and quiet to those who want to work at Good Stories. We have quite a lot of places where you can sit down to work, you can choose a common space, i.e. a dining room, a table on the terrace or sit at a desk in the bedroom. However, it's good to have your own Internet, because ours is not the speed master.
