Here, somehow, the soundtrack from "Never in Your Life" hums on its own, and Judyta's dreams of a wooden house become a reality. You may also feel like Amanda Woods in Holiday, spending the winter in a cottage with no neighbors. Unfortunately, Jude Law is not included in the package. However, you don't have to turn on Netflix to feel like you're in one of those romantic comedies with a cottage with a view of the mountains, hot chocolate on the slope, long walks in the snow-covered forest and a hot tub under a frosty sky. You just need to know the Legend of the Forest. This is a story about a house in the Tatra Mountains, 5 minutes from the ski station. So put your gear on your shoulder and hit the slopes. Then a decent dinner with double the amount of butter and cabbage, followed by thermal baths and an evening bonfire in the garden. In winter, the snow often reaches above the knees and you can test all kinds of frosty sports, in summer sheep dominate the pastures and oscypek cheese dominates the stomachs of tourists. We invite you to our series about life in the mountains. One with a happy ending, because you won't be the one clearing snow here.
Legenda Lasu is a spacious, two-story house where 6 to 8 people can relax comfortably. Ground floor, where there is:
- a living room with a sofa bed, terrestrial TV and Netflix access, and a fireplace,
- spacious, fully equipped kitchen,
- dining room with a beautiful wooden table.
On the first floor there are:
- Two bedrooms with large double beds, each bedroom has an additional small bed, perfect for children aged 2 to 10. One bedroom has a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains, and the other bedroom has a view of the forest.
- Mezzanine with ladder access and a large bed where you can relax, bigger kids will definitely find their place there.
Outside, there is a hot tub with hydromassage and aeromassage, heated by electricity or wood. In the garden you will also find a place for a bonfire with comfortable deckchairs, each deckchair has its own slogan related to the surrounding forest. There is also a barbecue next to the terrace.
Information for dog lovers: our fence is not tight, so you should keep an eye on your pets.
The kitchen is a place where you can create delicious, tasty, sophisticated but also simple dishes. We made sure that nothing was missing from its equipment. You can cook lunch or dinner yourself or order from nearby restaurants. There is also Karczma Widokowa Kotelnica, where you can walk a few minutes.
The Forest Legend nests in the heart of the picturesque Podhale region, in the town of Groń, right on the border with Białka Tatrzańska. So every direction you choose will lead you to a new adventure and will not let you get bored.
The house is located in the forest buffer zone, with a view of the mountains, with access to walks and trails just outside the fence. You will have peace and quiet here, a killer view of the Tatra Mountains, and at the same time very close to all the attractions of the area.
Right behind the forest there is the upper station of the Kotelnica ski lift, which is a 5-minute walk away. Skis on your back and go! You don't have to worry about any access or parking. Just eat a decent breakfast and hit the snow. For fans of mountain excursions, approximately 15-20 km away you will find tourist trails for professional climbers and good trekking. And for those who climb higher altitudes, we recommend a walk to Rusinowa Polana once a year. Once there, you will admire the views (weather permitting) and eat oscypek cheese or bryndza cheese (open from April to September). Two trails intersect in the Glade. The green one from Wierch Poroniec to Hala Gąsienicowa and the blue one from the Oswalda Balzera (Zazadne) road from Palenica Białczańska. So if you want to move on, nothing can stop you. It is definitely worth walking about 10 minutes from Polana to reach the Witorówki Sanctuary located in the Golden Valley.
Mountain, road and downhill biking enthusiasts will find bicycle routes for themselves here. From the already famous route of the TDP royal stage, to gentler forest mountain biking routes through technically demanding MTB/downhill descents.
You can also visit your neighbors, because the Slovak Tatra Mountains are just a stone's throw away. You can then easily:
- Find yourself at Morskie Oko (without queues and overloaded parking lots).
- Visit the path above the treetops. From the path there is a beautiful view of the Belianske Tatras, and walking along this path also gives you an increased level of adrenaline. The wooden sidewalk stands on special poles.
- Skalnate Pleso with postcard-worthy views.
- Take a modern cable car to the top of Łomnica.
- Stary Smokovec, and with it the oldest mountain shelter in the Tatra Mountains and the Cold Water Waterfalls.
- Štrbské Pleso, 1,346 m above sea level. You can't swim in it, but it's really worth seeing.
After a day full of attractions, there is a hot tub in the garden available 24/7 for our guests, included in the price, there is a place for a bonfire and a barbecue with themed deckchairs and beautiful swings. Outdoors is also available, where you can spend pleasant time outdoors with family or friends. There are also thermal baths in the area, which are very pleasant to relax after exercise or the drudgery of everyday life.
What’s there for children?
There will also be plenty of attractions for children both in winter and summer. When it's hot, we take baths in the tub (we don't heat the water), take long walks, ride a bike along the forest path and play football in the garden next to the house. There is also a playground for the youngest: a slide, climbing walls, swings and plenty of space to play tag.
It's obvious in winter! Fooling around in the snow, snowball fights, building a snowman. A nap in a warm bed or on the sofa by the fireplace. And then again. Learning to ski or snowboard on a nearby slope, and sleighing. Downhill on claws or for a walk with a parent who will pull the sled along a snow-covered path. In the evening, regardless of the season, there is time for a bonfire and warming up in the tub. Be sure to bring swimsuits, because the nearby thermal baths are a great attraction for the whole family.
