Happy accident, coincidence or fate – call it what you want. My surname is Tannenberg, which means fir mountain. We dreamed of an old house with soul that we wanted to renovate, and during our search, fate brought us to Gniewoszów near Jedlnik. We didn't know then that the peak was previously called Dreitannenberg: Three Fir Hill. The moment was symbolic, because I was pregnant and there were three of us. There was no other choice but to take it. Standing at 705 m above sea level. a house connected to a barn, our plan was to keep what we could. Save the character of the old one and complement it with a new one that doesn't pretend to be it at all. Reveal the wooden trusses, one of which told us the house dates back to 1833. Finish the bedrooms on the renovated first floor with larch to make it cozy and in harmony with nature. When it became clear that the part of the house adjacent to the barn could not be saved, we left it open and the patio was created. And when I looked for inspiration for the name in a book with old Polish proverbs, it turned out that the fir tree was once called 't'. It was also said that she was talking to the sky because she was so tall. And our roofless house, under the clearest sky around, talks to him too. Call this chain of events whatever you want.
The entire ground floor of the house is a common area. There is a dining room, kitchen, lounge with a fireplace and a view of the patio, bathroom, laundry room, pantry and boiler room.
Upstairs, there are bedrooms waiting for you - there are 6 of them, each with its own bathroom, and 2 of the apartments also have a kitchenette.
1st floor:
40-meter apartment with kitchenette for 4 people (1 double bed and 1 bunk bed)
romantic room: 1 double bed
room with 3 single beds (1 narrower couch type, perfect for a child, 2 can be converted into a double bed)
room for 2 people with bunk beds
Attic:
apartment with kitchenette (1 double bed, 1 single bed for a child)
room with 2 single beds
During your stay, feel free to use the Gonny patio, perfect for having a Tuscan dinner and looking at the stars at night.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook. If you don't feel like it, you can, after prior arrangement, eat at a friendly agritourism farm or order catering from them with home delivery.
Gonna will be perfect for groups of friends on holiday or a weekend, organizing birthdays, family reunions, but also for sports trips (bicycles) and company trips for teams.
The house itself is located near the forest and embedded in the mountain - there is a garden, a meadow, deer rutting, roe deer, foxes and squirrels running up to the house. It is at least 500 meters away from other inhabited buildings. The garden and our meadow area (0.6 ha) are at the full and exclusive disposal of our guests.
The thick stone walls of the house provide natural air conditioning in summer and cozy you in winter, when you spend evenings by the fireplace. The magical outdoor patio in the ruins of an old house is the perfect place to observe the stars, but you can also light a fire there or organize a dinner in a truly Tuscan atmosphere. There is a trampoline in the garden, swings and hammocks in the trees, and deckchairs under the trees in the orchard. You can play volleyball or badminton. The kids will build a hut in the summer and an igloo in the winter. You can sled from our meadow right to Gonny's door.
In the house there are books, CDs (including those recorded by musicians staying with us and recording in the Monochrom recording studio in Gniewoszów), audio equipment, and a projector. A movie screening or a musical evening in the lounge by the fireplace are within reach.
Europe's largest network of Singletrack Glacensis cycle routes is right under your nose. Cycle paths – also. The mountain paths start after leaving the house. The nearest route leads to Czerniec, where an observation tower was built. Around the house there are forests, meadows and hills for less demanding walks. It's a 5-minute walk to pick mushrooms, blackberries and blueberries.
In our town there are also the ruins of Szczerba Castle and Solna Jama. An hour's walk along a straight path available for children and the elderly will take you over a wooden bridge to the Czech Republic - to Neratov, where there is a local brewery, a restaurant and an amazing, beautiful 18th-century church with a glass roof, as well as a preserved fragment of a Sudeten village with tiny houses. On the other side of the Valley (15 km) there are wonderful Międzygórze and Śnieżnik. We recommend going to Spalona (18 km) to the Jagodna shelter for the famous blueberry pancakes. In the area there are Lower Silesian castles and palaces (including Gorzanów, Sarna, Międzylesie), the open-air museum in Pstrążna, the monuments of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, the Papermaking Museum and the Toy Museum in Duszniki.
5 ski resorts approximately 30-40 kilometers away: Zieleniec, Czarna Góra, Dolni Morava, Destne, Cervena Voda.
Cross-country trails - Spalona Cross-Country Ski Station, approximately 18 km away.
In summer, you can cycle 8 km to Rudawa, where there is a reservoir where you can cool off.
What’s there for children?
The garden in front of the house is surrounded by a fence, and the meadow behind the house is surrounded by a forest. We have a trampoline, swings, hammocks, and ropes for balance exercises. But children in our house, garden, meadow and nearby forest have no problems inventing their own games and being creative. The entire area is one great exploratory adventure. Building a hut or an igloo in winter, riding apples or sleighs from the meadow to the house, stalking, looking for traces of wild animals, admiring a fox that came to the glass door of the kitchen, rolling around the meadow, jumping on trees. Expeditions in search of blueberries, blackberries and mushrooms. It's a bit more difficult to play footy, because those at the bottom have a bit of an uphill challenge ;) But there is also a piece of level ground to play volleyball or badminton. And playing hide and seek both in the garden and at home is just a treat!
In the house itself there is a small wooden house of my daughter, which she decided to lend to little guests, following in her mother's footsteps ;) There are crayons, paints, toys, all kinds of games, and books for children. A hammock hanging in the lounge turns out to be one of the main attractions for children. We have a special mattress that we put under him during these multi-person acrobatics.
In larger apartments, children organize alternative events/games, while adults play on the ground floor.
However, if someone would like to leave Gonna and go out into the world, there are plenty of attractions around: the ruins of the castle and the Solna Jama in our village. In the village next door you can admire llamas. Skis, bikes, hiking at your fingertips. You can go to Kamienna for a great pizza from the food track on the mountainside. The palace in Gorzanów often organizes guided tours with attractions especially for children.

Radio internet is available. It does not have the speed of optical fiber, but teleconferencing, movies, and remote work with Gonny have not been a problem for anyone so far. You need to switch your phone to Wi-Fi and you can use it.
