We found ourselves in Międzygórze by accident. We only wanted to spend the night here, and soon we became the owners of Orańska. At that time, not knowing for sure how much a small village in the Śnieżnik Massif, founded by lumberjacks and coal burners in the 15th century, owed to the Dutch princess. These are Tyrolean-style villas, trout breeding ponds and the opening of a gorge next to the 23-meter-high Wieliczka Waterfall. While exploring the history of the former Wölfelsgrund, or Wolf Land, we also learned about Dr. Heinrich Janisch, who founded the Gigant sanatorium here. Międzygórze has the status of a climatic station because the conditions here are extremely therapeutic. You can admire the Tyrolean architecture, visit the Fairy Tale Garden founded over 100 years ago by the forester and botanist Izydor Kriesten, and ride the longest singletrack Glacensis bicycle path in Poland. We invite you to a land where you can go to the Brzuszki Rock, explore phillumenism in a museum dedicated to it, and in the evening swing in a hammock and eat muffins full of fruit. Spring here has the taste of wild strawberries, autumn is full of colors, winter cuts us off from the world and forces us to put chains on our wheels, and summer means breakfasts in the garden and soaking our feet in mountain streams.

Orańska is an alpine-style house with a view of Mount Igliczna and the surrounding mixed forests of the lower mountain forest. It is located in Międzygórze, a village in the Śnieżka Massif, located between the Wilczka and Bogoryja streams.
We have 4 rooms for you in the house. Three are double rooms, the fourth can accommodate 2-4 people (it has one double bed, one single bed and the option of an extra bed). All rooms are located on the first floor. Each has its own bathroom. They differ in the view from the window and the colors, as well as slightly in size. We live on the ground floor of the house and we are on site if you need anything.
In the summer, we hang hammocks in our forest, and in the garden in front of the house we set up tables and deckchairs.
The house is accessed via a steep road, in the winter chains are necessary. We can help you put them on.
You can order vegetarian breakfasts from us, which we will deliver to your rooms on a tray at an agreed time. In the summer season we serve them in the garden. I bake pâtés, make bread spreads, create cheese boards, indulge in homemade preserves and make lemonades (e.g. from dandelion or thyme). I use the gifts of the forest, meadows and our greenhouse. The menu includes forest fruits and vegetables grown by us.
Breakfasts can also be vegan, just let us know in advance about your need.
There will be a kitchenette with a sink, fridge, plates and cutlery, and a coffee machine.
You will find us near Bystrzyca Kłodzka, in the Eastern Sudetes, at the foot of Śnieżnik. This is where the picturesque Międzygórze, considered the most beautiful village in Lower Silesia, is located. Orańska is a bit off the beaten track, right by the forest, surrounded by a vast garden, where in the warm months we organize a relaxation zone with hammocks among the trees, tables and deckchairs. Leaving our house, you will almost immediately find yourself on a hiking, cycling and cross-country trail.
MIĘDZYGÓRZE
Be sure to take a walk around Międzygórze, which delights with wooden buildings in the Tyrolean style with beautiful carvings, cloisters, balconies and balustrades. In Międzygórze you can see the historical urban layout, the wooden and brick Gigant holiday home at ul. Sanatoryjna 5 from 1882 (it was established thanks to Dr. Heinrich Janisch, who founded a center for treating lung diseases in the form of a climate station and initiated the period of development of the town), the wooden church of St. Joseph the Betrothed with a baroque interior. You can stop for dinner at the House on the Waterfall, and for atmospheric souvenirs at Galeria Kotlina.
FOR CYCLISTS
In Jodłów, less than 20 km from us, two singletrack loops start: Jodłów and Ostoja. Singletack Glacensis is the largest network of bicycle routes in Poland, offering over 200 km of one-way paths for two-wheelers. And at our Czech neighbors in Dolni Morava there is the Downhill Trail.
FOR MOUNTAINS AND CLIMBING LOVERS
You can go for a walk to Igliczna Mountain right from us. You can choose from: the red trail leading over the Wilczki Waterfall to the shelter under Igliczna, the green trail leading to the stone flood barrier and from there leading quite steeply up, and the yellow trail leading through the Garden of Fairy Tales. There is a small shelter under the peak, as well as the Maria Śnieżna sanctuary. From Międzygórze you can also climb Śnieżnik, where there is a new observation tower, where a viewing tower was recently erected (it is 34 m high). On clear days, you can see Śnieżka from the top, but you can also see the Alpine peaks (dr hab. Krzysztof Strasburger photographed the Schneeberg and Rax massifs from there, located 281 and 292 km away, respectively).
For climbing fans, there are rocks and great climbing conditions in Międzygórze. There are fully developed rocks here, such as Wilk, Baszta or Kozie, as well as wild ones that are almost completely unfrequented. We recommend Skała Brzuszki and Płyta nad Brzuszkami.
IN WINTER
Beautiful cross-country skiing trails can be found in the Bialskie Mountains. You can also go backcountry skiing in the area, and you can go ski touring on Śnieżnik. For skiing, we recommend the Dolni Morava or Bukova Hora resorts in the Czech Republic and the smaller Cenkovice resort. You can get to the Polish Czarna Góra in half an hour. The aforementioned Dolni Morava complex also includes: a sleigh track, the Cloud Trail, SkyBridge (the world's longest rope bridge for pedestrians) and playgrounds (including a water bridge).
Where else is worth visiting, what to do and what to see?
- The Wilczka River Dam, the construction plan of which can be viewed in Orańska, and the Wilczka Waterfall nature reserve, located in the Śnieżnicki Landscape Park. There are several viewing platforms and a historical bridge from the times of Marianna Orańska. The waterfall is beautifully lit at night and looks like the elves' abode from Tolkien's novel.

- The Philumenistic Museum in Bystrzyca Kłodzka, which exhibits all objects related to the history of fire-making.
- The ruins of the non-existent village of Rothflössel, currently Czerwony Strumień, where there are remains of a baroque chapel.
- The uranium mine in Kletno, where you can also visit the Museum of the Earth, the Bear Cave, a mineral dump and the flooded Kletno quarry.
- The Czech Pastviny reservoir (35 km from us), where you can rent kayaks, boats, or just swim.
Children will not be bored here, because they will have space at their disposal, a forest right under their noses, and a slide and swings in the garden. You can go on mountain trails together, go to the reservoir and to the Fairy Tale Garden founded by Izydor Kristien. You can get there from Międzygórze along the yellow trail through Polana Śnieżna or the road behind the Sarenka guesthouse, and then follow the red trail.
