At a glance

You can forget about everything in this cottage. When we met her, an unearthly sight opened before us and that was enough. The climate here also contributed. It was rural, homely, idyllic, and a dwarf was walking around the yard. The wooden highland house is 100 years old. Just a decade ago, the neighbor's cows were grazing nearby, a horse from Buczyna was carrying wood to the forest, and Mr. Staszek was carrying hay on his back. Today, the cottage is comfortable, modern and has fast internet. For a quarter of a century it was only ours, it housed our children and was a place for workshops and friendly meetings. She has also been a guest for three years.

You don't come to the picturesque hamlet of Dolina in the Żywiec Beskids by accident. You can't drive here and you have to persevere to get here and sit on the terrace overlooking Babia Góra, Police and Jałowiec. Bake potatoes in the fireplace in the living room. Be bored. Lie down on the grass, listen to the wind and the rustling grass. Read the book to the end, go mushroom picking, bake bread and pick wild flowers. We have a lot of greenery and air here, and we experience nature more intensely. The snowflakes are fancier, the grass colors are more intense, and the smoke from the chimney is fragrant. Simple activities like chopping wood, lighting a fire, cooking or listening to music are more enjoyable than anywhere else.

You can forget about everything in this cottage and we encourage you to do so.

Sometimes we are on-site, sometimes we're not

The history of this place began for us 27 years ago, although the house is much older. Even though many years have passed since the "first meeting", the atmosphere remains the same: the view and aura of Babia, which spreads to everyone. The locals call our place Dolina. Ours, i.e. Joaśka and Wojtek and our four children. Here we catch our breath, here we look at the stars at night, I assure you it is a spectacle. We enjoy the rain, the sun, the storm and our common nature, which smells, sings, hums and hums. We survived winters with snow up to the roof and bonfires to the sky. We love this place.

How do I get there?

By car

  • Our address: Zawoja Dolina 572, Zawoja, Beskid Mountains, Żywiec Beskid Mountains, Poland

  • There are three ways to get to the cottage. Depending on the season and weather conditions. One of them is to drive a car from the center of Zawoja towards Śpikówka, Dolina, then turn left and there is a place to stop at the cross. The second road from the center leads through Wełcza and we turn near the forester's lodge, driving along the stream and through the forest. We provide tips along the way and send pins. We are visited by people who enjoy a short ascent. The last section of the road is a gravel and rocky road through the forest. If you feel like this road can't lead anywhere, then you're in the right place. At the guests' request, we organize luggage transport from the parking place to our cottage. Our cottage, 800 m above sea level, is closer to a mountain shelter than a guesthouse.

Ciasto drożdżowe pani Gabrysi to pr...

Wspaniałe, klimatyczne miejsce, wyposażone we wszystko o czym można pomyśleć. Dom z duszą, czysto i miło. Świetny kontakt z właścicielem. Dziękujemy i polecamy.
