Even before the cottage was built, we bought a canvas kayak with a wooden frame, which we wanted to hang under the ceiling of the high living room. It was to act as a lamp and illuminate the interior of the "kayak dock". After the crazy purchase of the kayak, Marek started designing. Because we had to enter the forest with respect for the trees and fit in with the tailor-made project.
This is how the windows were built around the house, the living room two storeys high, with the kayak under the ceiling, the bedroom on the mezzanine and the view. Of the trees, the well-groomed, blooming garden and the meadow - the oxbow lake of the Liwiec River. In this house, the boundary between the interior and the exterior is blurred. It is as if you were sitting on a sofa in a forest living room, just 70 km from Warsaw. In the summer, we take advantage of the proximity of the river, jump out for a walk to the Bug Landscape Park or enjoy a nap in a hammock. In the winter, life revolves around the fireplace. In the kitchen you will find a raclette set, so cool evenings will taste like melted cheese. Take your other half and simply Przystań w Oknie.
PS We take great care of our garden, so if your dog loves to dig and can't help himself, we ask that you come to us alone this time. If he's not interested in holes in the ground and weeding beds - we invite you to come with him. We have a dog ourselves and we know that every quadruped has its own passions :)
The year-round cottage is designed for 2 adults (max. 4 - by prior arrangement before booking). If you want to come with a dog - please read carefully further.
On the ground floor of the cottage there is a living room with a fireplace, a dining room with a functional kitchenette and a bathroom. Comfortable stairs lead to the mezzanine. And there is a sleeping area (double bed) with a view of the hanging kayak and nature outside the window. Upstairs you will also find an inconspicuous but comfortable place to work (we have Wi-Fi) with northern light and a relaxing environment.
Arrival with animals.
We take great care of the plants that are in our garden and we will ask you to do the same. Therefore - if your dog loves to dig and can "plough" the area - we ask that you come to us alone this time. If he is well-behaved, well-behaved and does not mind such games - we invite you with him. We have a dog ourselves and we know that every dog has its own preferences and quirks :) We would appreciate it if you respected that. We put a lot of work into making this place have a well-kept garden area.
With us you can eat whatever you want and at whatever time you want. Exactly what you want.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, induction hob, electric kettle, toaster, capsule coffee maker (we provide Jacobs capsules), raclette and all necessary accessories for preparing meals. We have filtered, tested water from the well, and you also have a filter jug at your disposal. However, it is not city water. If you are very used to it - we encourage you to take bottled water for direct drinking.
Outside (in front of the house and on the terrace) there are tables prepared for you - so that you can eat wherever and however you want, in the sun or in the shade.
You can use the fireplace in the garden (a designated comfortable area with seats around it).
If you want to take a break from cooking, you can order food from several restaurants in Łochów and Wyszków (including really delicious sushi). They will deliver it to you for a small additional fee. It is convenient when you want to spend your time more leisurely. What, how and where - you will be guided by a "guide" prepared for you.
Do you want to celebrate an important day for you? Maybe an engagement, maybe your anniversary? If we can, a prepared dinner can be waiting for you. However, we need to know about it much earlier, at least 2 weeks before your arrival. We will discuss the details with you individually.
We hope that this will be a pleasant time for you – a time of slowing down, rest.
On the premises, we have arranged relaxation corners and prepared relaxation accessories – wooden deck chairs, garden chairs, hammocks and a swing with a view. You can start the day however you like, with yoga on the terrace or with coffee. During the day, you can relax under the pines, birches – there are many nooks here to experience both sun and shade. As in a forest garden, butterflies and sometimes dragonflies fly around.
Evenings are yours – whether warm or cold, they will be cosy. You will spend time pleasantly by the campfire or by the fireplace in the cottage. Sunset on the terrace and autumn mists over the meadow are also evening attractions.
Depending on the season, you will be accompanied by the sounds of birds with varying intensity – woodpeckers knocking, jays screeching, pheasants calling just behind the fence, the persistent corncrake with its nightly rattle somewhere deep in the meadow, the spring clang of cranes, the surprisingly sounding sounds of the common snipe (March-June), the spring and autumn sounds of migrating geese, the melodious whistle of the blackbird and golden oriole – in early summer. The hooting of owls, singing tits and a spectacle of a nuthatch running down pine trunks with its head down. A squirrel will also present its acrobatics. At night, you will most likely hear a moose walking in the meadow and the calls of deer.
Just behind the gate, you will enter the forest, along which a heather path leads. A little further, behind the meadow, the Bug Landscape Park begins – walks in the forest and mushroom picking in autumn. In the opposite direction, the Liwiec River (20 min) – swimming, wild small beaches, kayaks and SUPs (several routes depending on the state of the river, your desire and fitness).
You will also find horse farms nearby: Sielskie Ranczo – Nowy Jadów (6 km), Stajnia Kaliska (10 km).
You can also visit the largest heathland in Europe – Mostówka (25 min by car). In August and September, insanely purple fields, ideal for a photo session for two. At other times, it is also interesting: twisted pines on the banks of sandy dunes with bent roots and many walking paths.
An attractive place for walking and picnicking, with the option of swimming in the river, is the sandy escarpment above the Liwiec in Świniotopa, 7 km away.
What’s there for employees?
In our Haven you can find many convenient places to work.
In the summer months - you have a choice of 2 large tables (on the terrace side and on the entrance side). And if the sun is too much for you - you can always change the table to the other one, in the shade. If you prefer lying down, then hammocks, ergonomic deckchairs - maybe you don't have to be as effective as always? And a nap will be forgivable.
When it gets colder - you also have 2 places to work in the cottage - at the table in the living room and at the desk on the mezzanine - a comfortable position with northern light and views.
