In a nutshell, we have this: a blue, slightly Scandinavian, but even more Podlasie, house with a view of the Białowieża Forest. If we want to develop a little, let's use our imagination, we tell. Life here takes place on a large, covered veranda. Sitting on the sofa, you turn the pages of a book, lie in the sun on a deckchair, or stare at your children busy looking after vegetables. You eat breakfast outside, take a siesta in a hammock, and when you get up early in the morning, you have a chance to see a herd of bison in the meadow right behind our fence. You lie on a blanket, listen to the birds chirping and you have no neighbors. When the evenings are cool, you don't move from the tiled fireplace. However, we recommend moving, because we have a good neighborhood and we like to walk around its nooks and crannies as a family. In Gruszki there is a playground and a monument to Inka, and the Browsk Forest District has provided an educational path dedicated to bees. It's not far from here to the Narewka River, where you can sit on the beach or rent a kayak and go rafting. Does it sound like a fairy tale about carefree holidays? That's what we hope. We invite you to our family place in the village of Guszczewina, right next to the forest, to lie on the grass, laugh out loud and relax.
Our blue house is located on the edge of the Białowieża Forest, in the small town of Guszczewina near Narewka.
Due to the size of the house (2 rooms), the house is designed for max. 4 adults and max. 4 children.
Inside the house you will find:
- on the ground floor: a kitchen connected to the living room, where there is a table, a comfortable sofa and a tiled fireplace,
- on the first floor: two separate bedrooms with double beds and fold-out sofas (for one larger person or two smaller ones), each has its own bathroom with a shower.
In front of the house there is a veranda with a dining and lounge area overlooking the meadow (visited by wild animals) and the Białowieża Forest. You will not have neighbors here. There will be only you, nature and, if you are lucky, a view of the bisons living in the forest. In the garden there are hammocks among the trees, a vegetable garden and a place for a bonfire.
On a large and fenced plot there is another house, which is not available to guests yet. We are preparing a relaxation area there.
There is a vegetable garden in the garden, enjoy its gifts.
In our blue house with a veranda, which in summer is a natural and obvious extension of the living room, you will be able to find respite. You will be accompanied by a view of the meadows and the Białowieża Forest, which begins right next to it.
In the garden there is a hammock among the trees, a fireplace and a vegetable garden.
There are bicycle paths and walking routes belonging to the Browsk forest district in Gruszki. There is an observation tower, a playground for children and an educational path explaining beekeeping. You can visit the Nature Education Center in Gruszki, where there are often exhibitions, and go to the beach on the Narewka River, where there is a rest and recreation area (with a playground, beach and kayak rental). You can go rafting down the Narewka River.
In Narewka, see the Pantheon of Slavic Gods and the tapestry, visit the gallery. Tamara Sołoniewicz, the open-air museum and the beekeeping museum, and take a walk to see the wooden Podlasie houses, the Orthodox church, the old church and the Jewish cemetery.
17 km from us there is the Siemianówka Reservoir, an artificial reservoir on the Narew River, attractive for anglers, but also for recreational swimmers. There are walking and cycling paths around the reservoir. It is a perfect place to observe water birds migrating in spring and autumn.
It is half an hour from us to Białowieża, where there is a bison show reserve, the Palace Park with an observation tower and a strict reserve, which can only be entered with a licensed guide. Trails you can walk: Place of Power, Bison Ribs and Forest Landscapes. There is a bicycle rental on site, and cross-country skiing in the winter.
In the Białowieża National Park (access from the Gruszki forest district or from Narewka through Janowo) there is the Kosy Most nature reserve and the Wolf Trail with a bison refuge and an observation tower.
The Land of Open Shutters, formally covering three villages: Soce, Puchły and Trześcianka, is within reach of a car trip. In fact, it also extends to many smaller villages around, e.g. Ciełuszki, Pawłów, Kaniuk and Ryboł. This is a trail leading in the footsteps of traditional Podlasie architecture. You won't see such decorated cottages, wooden churches and churches in any other part of the country.
Also go to the skit in Odrynki, an Orthodox hermitage founded by Archimandrite Gabriel, a hermit monk. Skit is extremely picturesquely located, isolated, in swamps, among the floodplains of the Narew basin. You have to walk to it via a wooden footbridge that is 800 m long.
What’s there for children?
Children have paradise here! We have a playground for them with a swing, a slide and a sandbox (and a hammock next to it from which you can watch the children), a large space, their own garden and a terrace for all kinds of games. It's safe and quiet here, you can admire nature, look at wild animals in pajamas, and eat pancakes for dinner. There are a lot of nice places in the area - an organized zone on the Narewka River with a beach, a playground and numerous walking and cycling paths.
What’s there for employees?
You can work from here, but the Internet is not the speediest one (for now, because we are trying to get optical fiber), take this into account. You will find a place to work in the bedrooms and at the table in the living room.
