At a glance
After purchasing a settlement in the idyllic village of Pasieki on the edge of the Białowieża Forest, where there was a wooden and brick ruin, we thought for a long time about what kind of house we should build here. In order not to make reckless decisions and at the same time be able to live in this magical place, we imported a circus wagon from Germany. We were so enchanted by living there that the number of cars increased to three, and the house design matured in peace and quiet. It paid off: the carriages became an extraordinary attraction, and our beloved HOUSE, which we also make available to guests, wins hearts.
A magical farm was created in Apiary: a blue Podlasie house, romantic circus wagons, an old orchard, a garden that becomes more beautiful every year, a swimming pool, and a children's house. And above all, the Forest and its inhabitants: there is no better place for a rut (you can hear the deer even in the bedroom of the house, and in the carts you have the impression that they are roaring right outside the door). Mushroom pickers will have a paradise here, and bird lovers can observe from the terrace (lesser spotted eagle, cranes, hoopoe, corncrake visit us). In spring you will experience unforgettable night bird and frog concerts here, while the lazy summer will take you captive to scents, colors and beautiful nights with the milky way. And winter, with the stars at your fingertips, a fire in the fireplace and walks in the forest, will leave you longing...

I'm a German studies major, a culture expert, and a translator of German literature. For years, I've divided my life between Warsaw, Zurich, and the Białowieża Forest, and my heart between Eastern Poland and Ukraine. For over twenty years, my Swiss husband and I have organized literary and nature trips for German-speaking guests – between translating yet another book and renovating another house :-)
The idyllic House on Rykowisko became our private home in 2026. However, we have three truly amazing circus wagons for guests – each with its own rhythm, story, and touch of circus magic. From 2027, a house on the neighboring estate will join them, becoming the new House on Rykowisko.
If you don't manage to book the wagons in time, don't worry – our other locations await you: the magical Hruszki Nature Reserve and the lovingly restored Rousseau Manor, which also houses the Tropinka Association for Dialogue. You'll be most in touch with my sister, Magda – a Romance scholar who oversees reservations and the beauty of the interiors – and Michał. Besides us, there's a group of kind, warm-hearted people who contribute to this place and give it its unique atmosphere.
The host is not an entrepreneur
When you book accommodation on Slowhop, you enter into a contract directly with the Host.
