At a glance
Along with this land came the idea to build a house made of earth. Thinking back on it now, the plan seems a bit crazy: from a rational perspective, nothing seemed to fit, yet everything worked out. It's worth noting that I was assisted in the construction of Austeria by architecture students from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology – a good hundred of them, as the work required many hands. The house, whose layout is inspired by traditional Lower Silesian farms, was built using the clay-straw construction method, which teaches not only patience but also humility. A clay pudding first flows from a special machine, which is then mixed with straw, and this material is then filled into wooden blocks and allowed to dry. In our case, there were 2,500 blocks, which dried in a clearing from June to August, and under no circumstances could they be allowed to get wet by rain. The roof wasn't easy either – after many trials and tribulations, it was finally built from roof tiles collected from all over Lower Silesia. So if you're wondering why, despite construction beginning in 2012, Austeria is still just getting started, there are several reasons. Now fully operational, however, it opens its arms wide and welcomes all those seeking peace, inspiration, and a sense of connectedness. Just outside Jelenia Góra lies a warm agritourism farm, fragrant with wood and clay.

I've lived in the Karkonosze Mountains since birth, and for as long as I can remember, it's been my favorite place on Earth. Perhaps that's why the Mountain Spirit once whispered in my ear about the place where the House was later built.
In my daily life, I'm a psychotherapist in the field of process-oriented psychology. I'm passionate about working with children and their parents, among other things. I care about ensuring that family members have the best possible relationships and a good connection with the world. I'm fascinated by discovering and developing individual patterns in parent-child relationships, as well as finding ways to cope with everyday problems. By prior arrangement, I work with parents and/or children during their stay at Austeria.
You'll also meet Magda, who feeds the Weary Travelers at Austeria. She is a process-oriented psychotherapist in training, leading training sessions and workshops, and facilitating meetings. She stands by the Oder River on the way to recognition of its legal personality. She has over a decade of experience working in non-governmental organizations and grassroots activist movements based on self-organization, sisterhood, and respect for All Beings. I believe that Aga and I met to support individuals in accessing their Essence.
Our house, rooted in the Earth, is a true Place with Soul. Styled after a Sudeten cottage, it was built of clay, wood, and straw. It is filled with antiques brought from all over Lower Silesia. Its construction (2012) and its restoration to its current form were no small feat. Incredible coincidences allowed Austeria to gradually emerge into the world.
Here, you can relax away from busy roads, at the edge of the village, amidst oak and beech forests. The heart of the house is a 90-square-meter room, ideal for meetings or workshops. We offer meals based on seasonal, local produce. For us, healthy eating is an expression of love for ourselves and the environment. We create a space filled with warmth and presence, with soothing silence and inspiring conversations. Here, every guest can connect with their longings and touch something profound.
