This story includes the last Masurian bear, a honey tincture with herbs and an old brick forester's lodge a few kilometers away from Niedźwiedzi Kąt. According to legend, the last bear in Masuria was hunted there, which is commemorated by a boulder standing under an oak tree. Drawings of predators probably living in these areas decorated the labels of a traditional drink, the equivalent of krupnik or miodówka, called pokrzetka. As we know, bears like honey, and honey is refreshing, so the whole story slowly comes together. Things happened so well in our lives that when we wanted a guest house, one appeared on the classifieds website and we were the first to see it. Thus, a series of fortunate events decided that the forester's lodge from 1906 became ours, and local stories led us to call it Pokrętka. Its decor was straight from the 1980s, but we changed it into something much more consistent with the former home of the forest fauna guardian. We focused on wood, exposing old brick and wallpaper with plant motifs. The heart of the house is the kitchen connected to the dining room, but we also recommend a large, fenced garden for family celebrations. Once you have refreshed yourself with food, go to the nearby lakes: Spychowskie, Kierwik or Ciche, kakajak on Krutynia and see what is squeaking (and singing) in the forests of the Piska Forest. Your heart will be comforted by the news that when you return, there will be hot tub water and raspberry bushes to eat.

What our Refreshment and drink have in common is that this place works like a soothing balm on a person. There is nothing else to do but take advantage.

We invite you to the 118-year-old forester's lodge, full of old stories. We added a touch of comfort and made sure that you feel comfortable here. We tried very hard to respect the atmosphere of this place. We have heard many times that it is unique.

The house has 190 m². There are 4 bedrooms at your disposal: 1 (the largest) on the ground floor and 3 on the first floor. Each of them in different colors, all cozy and with wooden and forest accents. On the ground floor there is an open kitchen with a dining room, a living room with a sofa, a bookcase, board games and TV, and a bathroom with a shower. There is also a toilet on the first floor.

Sleeping arrangement: three bedrooms have double beds, the fourth has a double bed and also single beds. There is also a fold-out sofa in the living room if you would like to come here with a group of 9 people.

In the garden, you will find a tub, a set of garden furniture and a table with benches, where you can eat meals in the warm months. We also have for you: a swing on a tree, hammocks among the trees and bushes full of raspberries.

Even though Pokrzeka is the last house in the village and there is a forest beyond, you will not be alone here. We have neighbors and we ask you not to hold large parties here and to observe night silence.

The heart of a refreshing home is the kitchen. Here you can not only cook, but also have a nice time. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything you may need to prepare meals. The room is connected to an equally large dining room that can comfortably accommodate all guests.

On warmer days, meals taste best outdoors, so we encourage you to use the outdoor table. You can prepare and eat dishes from the grill or bonfire.

If you don't feel like cooking, no problem. We recommend fresh fish at the fry shop (3-minute walk from us) or the best dumplings in the world in Leśne Zakątek (15-minute walk along a forest path).

What you should know about Spychów is that it is located between Lake Spychowskie and Lake Kierwik. The lakes are connected by Struga Spychowska. There is another lake located in the immediate vicinity - Lake Ciche. The village is surrounded by the forests of the Piska Forest. We have excellent natural conditions here.

We believe that in the place we create, each of you will find your own way to relax. For example, you can take a book from your home library and walk with it in a hammock or sit with it in the garden on a deckchair. You can swing on the swing and feel bliss. Or maybe you would consider a relaxing bath in a hot tub or in a lake 300 meters away? There is a brand new pier and a swimming area with a gentle descent into the water. There is also an option of forest bathing, because the forest starts right next to it and there are plenty of educational paths and bicycle routes (you can rent bikes in Spychów). And here we come to recommendations for active people! By bike, you can go on the Krutyński Bicycle Trail and the Juranda and Lanca loops, as well as the last bear bike trail, which starts from Spychów. By the way, you can take a walk along the Ciche Lake educational trail. You can also go kayaking. Spychowskie Lake is located on the Krutynia River route. The routes have different lengths, the longest will take you about 3 hours. You can sail, for example: Spychowo-Połom, Spychowo-Kierwik or Spychowo-Zgon.

During the holidays, Spychowo often hosts events in the amphitheater or concerts of local artists by the river.

If you want to discover this corner of Masuria, Pokrętka will serve as a base for visits to Mikołajki, Mrągowo and Ruciane-Nida. On the route, it is worth stopping by the museum. K.I. Gałczyński in the Pranie Forester's Lodge. There is also the Piska Forest nearby, and you can also visit the wild animal park in Kadzidłowo.

We welcome children of all ages. The area is completely fenced, so the kids can run around the garden all day long. Across the street there is a large, fenced playground. And at home we left a wardrobe full of treasures, filled with board games.

Pokrętka is recommended for remote work. The Internet is fast, and there is also a desk to work on if you like something formal. There will also be other corners: a table in the dining room, one of the bedrooms or a deckchair in front of the house.
