This story involves the last Masurian bear, a honey-infused herbal liqueur, and an old brick forester's lodge a few kilometers from Niedźwiedź Kąt. Legend has it that the last bear in Masuria was hunted there, commemorated by a boulder standing under an oak tree. Drawings of predators likely native to this region adorned the labels of a traditional beverage, an equivalent of krupnik (barley soup) or mead vodka (honey vodka), called "Pokrzepka." As we know, bears love honey, and honey is invigorating, so the whole story slowly comes together. Our lives happened to be so perfect that when we wanted a guesthouse, one appeared on a classifieds website, and we became its first visitors. Thus, a series of fortuitous events led to the 1906 forester's lodge becoming ours, and local stories led us to call it "Pokrzepka." The décor was reminiscent of the 1980s, which we transformed into something much more befitting the former home of a forest wildlife guardian. We opted for wood, exposed brickwork, and wallpaper with floral motifs. The heart of the house is the kitchen, which is connected to the dining room, but the large, fenced garden is also recommended for family meals. Once you've refreshed yourself, head to the nearby lakes: Spychowskie, Kierwik, or Ciche, kayak down the Krutynia River, and see what's singing (and singing) in the Pisz Forest. Your heart will be lifted by the news that upon your return, hot tubs and raspberry bushes await you.

The connection between our Pokrzepka and the drink is that this place works like a soothing balm. There's nothing left to do but take advantage.

We invite you to a 118-year-old forester's lodge, steeped in history. We've added a touch of comfort and made sure you feel comfortable. We've taken great care to preserve the unique atmosphere of this place. We've heard many times that it's unique.

The house measures 190 m². There are 4 bedrooms: 1 (the largest) on the ground floor and 3 on the first floor. Each one is decorated in different colors, all cozy and with wood and forest accents. On the ground floor, there's an open-plan kitchen with a dining area, a living room with a sofa, a bookcase, board games, and a TV, and a bathroom with a shower. On the first floor, there's also a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet.

The sleeping arrangements: three bedrooms have double beds, while the fourth has a single bed next to the double bed. There's also a fold-out sofa in the living room if you'd like to stay with more than 9 people.

In the garden, you'll find a hot tub, a set of garden furniture, and a table with benches, perfect for enjoying your meals during the warmer months. We also have a tree swing, hammocks among the trees, and strawberry bushes.

Although Pokrzepka is the last house in the village, with the forest beyond, you won't be alone here. We have neighbors, and we ask that you refrain from throwing large parties and observe the quiet hours.

The heart of a refreshing home is the kitchen. Here you can not only cook, but also have a nice time. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with everything you may need to prepare meals. The room is connected to an equally large dining room that can comfortably accommodate all guests.

On warmer days, meals taste best outdoors, so we encourage you to use the outdoor table. You can prepare and eat dishes from the grill or bonfire.

If you don't feel like cooking, no problem. We recommend fresh fish at the fry shop (3-minute walk from us) or the best dumplings in the world in Leśne Zakątek (15-minute walk along a forest path).

You should know about Spychowo that it is located between Lake Spychowskie and Lake Kierwik. The lakes are connected by Struga Spychowska. There is another lake that is located in the immediate vicinity - Lake Ciche. The village is surrounded by the forests of Puszcza Piska. Therefore, we have excellent natural conditions here.

We believe that in the place we are creating, each of you will find your own way to relax. For example, you can take a book from your home library and trample with it in a hammock or sit with it in the garden on a deckchair. You can swing on a swing and feel bliss. Or maybe you will consider a relaxing bath in a tub with hydromassage or in the lake, which you will be 300 meters away from? There is a brand new pier above it and a swimming area with a gentle descent to the water. There is also the option of forest bathing, because the forest starts right next door, and there are plenty of educational paths and bike routes (you can rent bikes in Spychowo). And here we come to the recommendations for active people! You can set off on the Krutyński Bike Trail and the Jurand and Lanca loop by bike, as well as the last bear bike trail, which starts in Spychowo. You can also take a walk along the educational path of Lake Ciche. You can also go kayaking. Lake Spychowskie is located on the Krutynia River trail. The routes are of different lengths, the longest will take you about 3 hours. You can sail, for example: Spychowo-Połom, Spychowo-Kierwik and Spychowo-Zgon.

During the holidays, Spychowo often hosts events in the amphitheater or concerts by local artists on the river.

If you want to discover this corner of Masuria, Pokrzepka will serve as a base for visits to Mikołajki, Mrągowo and Ruciane-Nida. On the route, it is worth stopping by the K.I. Gałczyński Museum in the Pranie Forester's Lodge. The Piska Forest is also nearby, and you can also visit the wild animal park in Kadzidłowo.

We welcome children of all ages. The area is completely fenced, so the kids can run around the garden all day long. Across the street there is a large, fenced playground. And at home we left a wardrobe full of treasures, filled with board games.

Pokrętka is recommended for remote work. The Internet is fast, and there is also a desk to work on if you like something formal. There will also be other corners: a table in the dining room, one of the bedrooms or a deckchair in front of the house.
