A bit behind busy Zakopane, right at the entrance to the Chochołowska Valley blooming in spring with crocuses, surrounded by mountains, forests and the sound of rivers, there has been a real forester's lodge since 1952. The history of our family in this place dates back to 1975, when dad Tadek, as a young forester, decided to take under his care the forests and areas of the valley with which he had been associated for generations. The whole family moved into the house, which quickly became a place welcoming all mountain lovers, artists, forest people, seekers of peace and experience of the Tatra nature. We have everything here. The longest and largest valley in Poland, the best sour soup, the most beautiful view of Giewont and Czerwone Wierchy. The atmosphere is homely, the garden is perfect for relaxation, and in 6 rooms and a studio there are comfortable beds and accessories carefully found in Podhale, flea markets, Krakow's Grzegórzki, and even in Iran. We will also tell you that our breakfasts remain in your memory for a long time, behind the gate there is a mountain stream, and the trails start in front of the house. You'll have to experience the rest for yourself.
We invite you to a family guesthouse with traditional home cooking, a spacious garden (where vernissages take place and bonfires burn in the evenings) and a gate that leads straight to the stream. We have 6 rooms and one studio for you in a real forester's lodge, which stands at the entrance to the Chochołowska Valley. There is also a restaurant in the same building. The forester's lodge was built in 1952, our family moved here in 1975, and in the 1990s a guesthouse was built, to which we invite you.
There is a cozy and homely atmosphere created by accessories found in Podhale, flea markets, Krakow's Grzegórzki and even in Iran. You will be surrounded by old furniture from the Podhale region, plant graphics and woodcuts, hand-woven kilims and Persian carpets, and equipment made by the carpenter Mietek from Koniówka. There is a family atmosphere here. The house is wooden, the floors sometimes creak, and the attic rooms have slants. We organize various events (workshops, parties, weddings), it's not always quiet because we like it when something happens.
Buffet breakfasts are served in a room with a view of Giewont and Czerwone Wierchy. On the tables you will find: fresh bread from a friendly bakery, sweet rolls baked by us just before breakfast, cheese and cold meats from local farms. There is no shortage of fruit and vegetables, as well as our homemade spreads and jams.
After a walk, a mountain trip or simply lazing around in the garden or by the stream, we invite you to our restaurant for lunch or dinner. You will try simple, Podhale cuisine, which is based mainly on local products. We get milk, white cheese, oscypek cheese and bundz from our neighbor. Throughout summer and autumn we buy porcini mushrooms, pine nuts, lingonberries and blueberries. The lamb comes from Ciche and the trout from Zakopane.
In a few minutes' walk you will reach our second restaurant (270 m), Ziębówka.
Our forester's lodge is surrounded by meadows and fields that are famous throughout Poland. In spring, the glades of the Chochołowska Valley bloom with crocuses, in summer they enchant with all the colors of the rainbow, in autumn they are a place where rutting takes place and where bears come, and in winter they become an ideal place for cross-country skiing or ski touring.
Our guesthouse is surrounded by a very pleasant garden with many places to sit, tables, a fireplace and a shelter for relaxing. Our location allows you to set off on many trails straight from here. Workshops and yoga classes are often held in the nearby Ziębówka Forester's Lodge (we can also organize an individual session for you).
