The habitat has been in our family for over a hundred years, and its current shape is determined by the remains of the Linden Avenue and the vicinity of the several hundred-year-old Gajos Oak - a natural monument. A slightly younger oak dominates the garden: our tribute to nature and a protest against the widespread concrete. Our house still remembers the times when silkworms were bred here. At the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, we transformed its hall into a summer house, and in the 1990s we went all out and decided to make it a year-round property. The wooden house looks a bit Swedish: colorful, eclectic, artistic. You can feel like you're on a Scandinavian summer resort here. With the Swedes, apart from sympathy for their country, we share a penchant for giving a second life to objects and materials: here you will find boards from a workshop in Prague and brick from tenement houses in Marecki, and our furniture remembers the times of the Briggs brothers' weaving factory. If you like to live in an original way, are interested in art and fashion and want to relax in a home where the eye is never bored, we invite you to our retreat. Only 30 mins. from Warsaw there is a house in the forest where, in addition to inspiration, you will find shelter from the fast-paced world.
Our unique house, where you can feel a bit like a summer resort in Sweden, is located only 25 km from the Palace of Culture. Our plot is very large and surrounded by a wild garden. Even though we have neighbors in the area, the chances of meeting them are slim. The house is hidden among the trees and is a place where you can hide from the whole world. It is located in a housing estate in the vast Mareckie Forests, which encourage walking and cycling trips.
House has:
– 2 bedrooms with a double bed (one of them has access to the terrace),
– 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub, one with a shower),
– kitchen connected to the dining room,
– living room with sofa, armchairs and fireplace,
– terrace with lounge furniture.
We can accommodate up to 6 people on site.
In addition to 2 double bedrooms, we can offer, if it suits you:
– sleeping on the sofa in the living room for 1 person (it is not foldable, but very wide),
– mattress for 1 person, to spread out in the living room or bedroom.
The house is also showing its age: you won't experience luxury here, but you will definitely experience silence, comfort and atmosphere. These will be unforgettable moments.
The shape of our plot is determined by the remains of the Linden Avenue, an over-100-year-old hornbeam and the vicinity of the several hundred-year-old Gajos Oak - a natural monument. A slightly younger oak dominates the garden, which is our tribute to nature and a protest against the widespread concrete. The garden is dominated by deciduous shrubs typical of ancient gardens, among which thousands of daylilies intertwine with ferns. The hornwort, the blueberry and the ground elder pretend to be forest undergrowth, and the ivy patch surrounding the pond turns into a meadow hidden behind the bushes. The garden's "wildness" program encourages children to play outdoors and offers bird concerts to their guardians.
Here, love for nature is easy to reconcile with sympathy for comfort and entertainment. There are shops, cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of Ustroń. Sports and entertainment enthusiasts will enjoy a rich program at the Mareckie Educational and Recreation Center and the Cultural Center.
What’s there for children?
Although we do not have a playground here, children can get lost in the mysterious garden and discover its nooks and crannies. If you would like to come with children, keep in mind that we have a pond on the plot, so it is important that these are older children, whose safety you will not have to worry about.
What’s there for employees?
We have concert-like working conditions: optical fiber, and in one of the bedrooms a large desk with a soothing view of the garden. Our place is perfect to get away from Warsaw for work and hide among the greenery.
