At a glance
This is the story of a house by a lake that no longer exists. When it did, it was called Ittowker See, after our village's name. It's also a story about how, in a lack, you can see an asset. For while other Masurian settlements attract tourists today, this one without a lake is untouched. When poverty reigned in the late 19th century in what is now Witówek, then Ittowken, the residents decided to drain the waters of their lake to gain additional arable land. However, the land was never completely drained: there are no farmlands or meadows in its place—only a mysterious pool with the clanging of cranes and the hum of an invisible bittern. For 20 years, we have invested our love and hard work in this extraordinary corner, with the feeling that the reward for the eyes and soul comes with a vengeance. These 2 hectares, with their Prussian architecture and ancient trees in a small Masurian village in the heart of the forest, draw us like a magnet every Thursday. Our happiness lies in what most people in Masuria find lacking. Discover the flavor and color of a vacation by the floodplain: in a home that thoughtfully interacts with the history and atmosphere of the village.

We live in the city permanently, but 20 years ago we bought an old habitat, which we are systematically expanding with respect for nature. We contemplate the quality of life in the countryside. Our houses are an old Masurian fabric surrounded by the shade of old trees on a two-hectare property. We feed our eyes with the fruits of our work in the garden, looking for inspiration in English gardens. | We devote ourselves to the garden, working in it has become our mantra. We rest in the evening, staring at the starry sky. It is a place of respite for busy people. For those who are relaxed, it will be a complement. Everyone will find something for themselves here.
