Do you ever get completely lost in something you do with passion? To derive joy and satisfaction from the activity itself, not the goal? This is ikigai - the Japanese philosophy of happiness, which suggests that we should look for pleasure and meaning in what we are doing at a given moment, without expecting spectacular results or applause. It is she who sanctions all those projects that we sometimes think about "without sense": novels written in a drawer and paintings that no one will see. What counts is the here and now. Our ikigai was to create a little Asia in the Greater Poland countryside. We renovated the house ourselves, in which almost everything was made with our hands: from the wardrobe to the decorations. However, our work had a clear goal - we wanted to make our guests travel to the Far East through their visit here. We traveled there for a long time, and Joanna had the opportunity to live in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Thailand for 10 years. So you must believe that he has the climate and philosophy of Asia at his fingertips. Perhaps our habitat will help you discover your own ikigai?
The Ikigai Siedlisko is a house on the green grounds of a former farm, which has over 7,700 m².
The house has:
ground floor: 2 double bedrooms, living room, kitchen, orangery/tea room, bathroom,
first floor: 2 double bedrooms, living room/workshop room, bathroom with steam sauna.
Our space, in addition to friendly meetings and family gatherings, will be ideal for intimate workshops in the spirit of well-being, yoga or creativity.
In our garden you will find a tub that will allow you to relax even better during your visit to the Ikigai Siedlisko. One-off fee of PLN 300 per stay, including wood for 1 session, wood for each subsequent session PLN 75.
The area of the settlement is not fenced. All around us we have a real village, where you can hear the rooster, a horse peeks over the fence, and a neighbor sometimes drives by in a horse-drawn carriage.
The functional kitchen will allow you to comfortably cook on your own, and if you don't feel like it, you can take advantage of the gastronomic offer in the area.
There is no shortage of Hosts in the area from whom you can buy local products: eggs, cheese, milk from a cow or honey from an apiary. We will share with you tips on where to look for them.
On site:
- a library and a set of games await you,
- you can take long, soothing baths in the bathtub,
- there is a steam sauna in the bathroom on the first floor,
- a lush, surprise-filled garden encourages you to relax (there is, among other things, a salt graduation tower and a birdwatching stand).
In the area:
- our neighbour runs a place where horses with past experiences live - maybe sometimes they will look in on you through the fence, and if you feel like having deeper interactions, you can arrange to have contact with the horses: feed them or go for a walk together,
- a few km away there are alpacas, after prior contact with the owners (Alpaki Piegonisko-Pustkowie) you can arrange a walk :)
- there is the Pszczółkowo nad Prosną apiary, where you can arrange interesting workshops,
- there are forests with beautiful walking and cycling routes (asphalt) and hidden lakes in the forests,
- you will be close to the municipal swimming pool in Brzeziny,
- Kalisz, which is said to be the oldest Polish city, is waiting to be explored - the oldest traces of settlement in its area date back to 8300 BC; in Kalisz it is worth seeing the Old Town, the Archaeological Reserve or the Maria Dąbrowska Manor (in Russów near Kalisz).
