What is miyszani? It is not an Asian philosophy of happiness or a Balkan dish. It is a custom that my uncle, Henryk Kukuczka, started in Stecówka. Miyszani means sheep mixing, or the moment when the farmers hand over their animals to the care of the shepherd and the juhas. The local miyszani and autumn rozsod were spectacles that enjoyed great popularity. It was Uncle Henryk, known as the Shepherd of Stecówka, who initiated the renewal of shepherding in the Silesian Beskids. In the late 1990s, together with three farmers, he brought sheep to Istebna and decided to graze them in the traditional way. Everyone knew Uncle Henryk. He was the good soul of Stecówka, and the sight of him, especially when he led the flock with his granddaughter Gabrysia, always brought a smile to my face.

My uncle's old agritourism farm stands just behind our fence and Aunt Krysia lives there today with a few sheep. So you have to believe that this corner of Stecówka has not only a special charm and history, but also a very important place in the hearts of our family. Maybe it will occupy it in yours too? We are located right next to the trail to Barania Góra, we have 2 well-groomed cottages with tubs, a large green area for children (including the four-legged ones) and it is hard to find a place where you can experience the Silesian Beskids more fully than here.

We invite you to two very comfortable and refined highland houses. They are located in a large, fenced area right next to the red trail to Barania Góra.

Each cottage has:
ground floor
– open kitchen with living room (2 people can sleep on the sofa),
– bathroom with shower,
– terrace with a hot tub,

– a bedroom with a double bed and a single extra bed (fold-out armchair),
– bedroom with 3 single beds.

Each cottage has its own hot tub. The hot tub is charged additionally: PLN 400 per stay.

We rent two houses independently, so it may happen that other guests will be relaxing nearby.

All pets are most welcome here. Just pay attention to what our fence looks like - a small dog can squeeze under it.

We create a quiet place to relax for families that will be appreciated by people who want to commune with silence and nature. Please choose a different place for your stag or hen party.

If you are interested, our friend's parents run a restaurant from which we can order home-made dinners for you. This is an option for those who do not have a car or energy, but for everyone else we recommend driving a few kilometers to the restaurants, of which there are plenty in the area. In the vicinity of Stecówka and Istebna you will find many charming restaurants and inns that serve traditional Beskid dishes and Polish regional cuisine.

Eggs straight from our Auntie's hens are waiting for those interested behind the fence.

In the area we recommend:
– church of St. Our Lady of Fatima on Stecówka built by our family: an important place for Stecówka,
– entrance to Barania Góra with a stop at the Przysłop shelter,
– the Little Beskid Loop,
– winter sleigh rides,
– hiking along mountain trails of varying difficulty and route length,
– bike riding (available for rent in Istebna) – great bike trails around,
– walks along beautiful forest paths along the Olza tributaries,
– the historic Habsburg Trail,
– Barania Góra Tourism Museum, classes with guides (stories about tourism, the Barania Góra area and its history, legends about bandits, etc.),
– trips to the sources of the Vistula, where you can see the unique Rodło Cascades,
– the Barania Góra nature trail, with educational boards along Czarna Wisełka to the very top of Barania Góra, and then towards the Biała Wisełka valley,
– Baraniogóra Forest Chamber (mini-museum of flora and fauna of the Silesian Beskids), classes with foresters, stories about animals, their habits, vegetation typical of the region, learning to distinguish tree and plant species,
– skiing (close proximity to two modern chairlifts: “Zagroń” and “Złoty Groń”),
– cross-country skiing (professional cross-country track on the nearby Kubalonka),
– visiting the Presidential Castle in Wisła,
– Jerzy Kukuczka Memorial Room,
– Kurna Chata Kawulok Museum,
– Koniakowska Lace Museum – Maria Gwarek Memorial Chamber,
– museum of the painter and graphic artist Jan Walach,
– visiting the Ecological Education Center,
– visiting the forge in Istebna.

Our cottages will be an excellent choice for holidays with children. The large green area is fenced, you can have fun there, run around as much as you want, and even make friends with your aunt's sheep who live next door.
