Smerek means spruce. It is a word from the Rusyn language used by the Lemkos. The inhabitants of the settlement of Smerekowiec, founded in the 16th century, have always been engaged in sheep breeding and have lived from the riches of the surrounding coniferous forests. The Romani, Lemko and Jewish cultures met in the village in the Zdynia stream valley. Like most local villages, ours was not spared by the war, and traces of old life can be seen, among others, in an inconspicuous Greek Catholic church. It is considered not very beautiful and tourists are not attracted to it, preferring wooden ones, but those who pay attention to it, the brick Orthodox church in Smerekowiec will surprise with its charming, colorful polychromes. But enough about history and culture, now about nature. We built our house in the forest, the scent and peace of which will surround you on all sides. It's a perfect place to hide away from the rest of the world, or on the contrary: go hiking with a backpack in the magical Low Beskids. We are close to the trails and the most beautiful corners of our region. However, before you go on a trip, relax in our remote area. Look at the stars while being massaged by the bubbles in the jacuzzi, drink your morning coffee on the terrace with a view of deer running through the meadow, and in the fall collect a basket full of red owls.

PS Due to the high sulfur content, the local water is not suitable for drinking or cooking. We will leave you a 5 liter tank, and if you need more, please buy some along the way.

Our dream has always been to find a place in the forest, away from other buildings and noise. 14 years ago, I entered the phrase on the Internet: plot in Małopolska up to PLN 30,000. There were two offers, one of them was Smerekowiec. A plot in the forest in a remote area - paradise. When I got out of the car and smelled the pine trees, I knew this was it. And so we started building our house. Our children were born, time passed, and we still came here every free moment. Time always flies very slowly in this place. People are very nice, helpful and less stressed than those in a big city. But how can you be stressed when you live in paradise... Now we invite you - discover our Smerekowiec, a house in the forest.

Where will I sleep?

    2. Remember that you are in the middle of the forest, and various animals live here, so keep appropriate silence. Listen to nature.

    3. Due to the sulfur content, tap water is not suitable for drinking or cooking (we recommend using bottled water).

    5. Please do not throw personal hygiene products and items that can clog them into the toilet.

    6. Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the facility. After finishing the bonfire or grill, remember: put out the fire properly. You are in the forest.

    7. Please do not light a bonfire when it is windy.
    8. Due to the fact that the cottage has very poor coverage, we recommend talking and using the phone on the terrace, especially by the window ;), or of course via WiFi.
    9. Although you can't see it, we have neighbors, so we kindly ask you to respect the night silence from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    10. Please do not leave leftover food outside the cottage due to the possibility of forest animals appearing.
    11. We throw the bins for segregation in the house (paper, glass, plastic, bio waste and mixed garbage) into larger containers located on the side of the cottage.
    12. When you go on a trip, put valuables in the cottage and close the barrier on the fence.
    13. Remember to turn off the power strips during a storm.
    14. After your stay, please throw the keys into the box and turn the code.
