Smerek means spruce. It is a word from the Rusyn language used by the Lemkos. The inhabitants of the settlement of Smerekowiec, founded in the 16th century, have always been engaged in sheep breeding and have lived from the riches of the surrounding coniferous forests. The Romani, Lemko and Jewish cultures met in the village in the Zdynia stream valley. Like most local villages, ours was not spared by the war, and traces of old life can be seen, among others, in an inconspicuous Greek Catholic church. It is considered not very beautiful and tourists are not attracted to it, preferring wooden ones, but those who pay attention to it, the brick Orthodox church in Smerekowiec will surprise with its charming, colorful polychromes. But enough about history and culture, now about nature. We built our house in the forest, the scent and peace of which will surround you on all sides. It's a perfect place to hide away from the rest of the world, or on the contrary: go hiking with a backpack in the magical Low Beskids. We are close to the trails and the most beautiful corners of our region. However, before you go on a trip, relax in our remote area. Look at the stars while being massaged by the bubbles in the jacuzzi, drink your morning coffee on the terrace with a view of deer running through the meadow, and in the fall collect a basket full of red owls.
PS Due to the high sulfur content, the local water is not suitable for drinking or cooking. We will leave you a 5 liter tank, and if you need more, please buy some along the way.
Our log house stands in a forest clearing. It has 50 m² + a large terrace. Downstairs there is an open kitchen with a dining room, a fireplace and a comfortable 2-seater sofa. There is also a bathroom with a shower and an entrance to a beautiful, covered terrace overlooking the forest, which serves as an additional room from spring to late autumn. On the first floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and 2 single beds. A total of 6 beds.
On the plot there is a place for a bonfire, a gazebo with a barbecue, a table for feasting and table football.
For an additional fee, you can order a wonderful atmospheric jacuzzi tub (let us know up to a week before arrival). Bathing under the starry sky in the middle of the forest is a real feast for the senses.
The kitchen in our house is the heart of this place. It is equipped with all the necessary appliances. A two-burner induction hob, a fridge, a coffee machine, a kettle, a blender, a toaster and a toaster are waiting for you. Through our large window, while washing the dishes, you can admire the forest, which changes its colors with the seasons.
The covered terrace that we provide to you invites you for morning coffee in the sunshine (it's also great in the rain). You can also use the bonfire and the fireplace prepared there, as well as the grill located in our gazebo.
And when you just want to relax, you can order food straight to the forest from the nearby "Klimkowskie flavors" restaurant. Just call and enter the password: "Cottage in the forest in Smerekowiec; Old stoves", and delicious dishes will be delivered to your door. Of course, we also recommend visiting Klimkowskie Smaki in person.
A great place to eat a delicious dinner is also Karczma Huculanka at the Hutsul horse farm in Regietów. Delicious regional dishes, excellent service, a large barbecue in the middle of the room and a huge garden with the possibility of horse riding and carriage rides. It is also a wonderful place for families with children: there is a playground and extensive areas to run around. And horses!
In the Wysowa Zdrój health resort, we recommend Karczma Gościnna Chata with a Lemko atmosphere and Karczma Dziurnówka with regional dishes.

What’s there for children?
Children will definitely not be bored here! The house has plenty of board games, a foosball table, darts and books. There is also a wooden house with tiny furniture for playing.
Outside, there is a playground with a slide, a net for playing badminton or football, and a huge area where they can have fun. There is a mountain stream flowing near the house, children love playing in it and splashing in the water. You can also go for a walk, ride a bike or rollerblade.
