No changes in the capital of the Tatra Mountains. Wooden villas in the Zakopane style stimulate the imagination, the view from Kasprowy Wierch makes your jaw drop, and Krupówki is bustling with noise. However, if instead of heading through the crowds of tourists for a magnet with a ciupa, you prefer to listen to the murmur of a stream, I have a proposition for you. Drop by to see my mother. Here, in the very center of Zakopane, yet hidden from noise and sight, stands her house. Part of it is the apartment renovated by me. I did everything in it as I dreamed: no expense was spared on wood, cozy accessories or a sauna. And although I'm not here every day, my mother, once the manager of one of the Tatra mountain shelters, wholeheartedly cares for the well-being of the guests. Each of us will be happy to recommend places worth visiting, the least crowded trails and the tastiest restaurants. Come and see Zakopane from a quiet and very comfortable side.
The apartment is entered from my mother's house - it has a separate, private entrance with a code. There are 2 parking spaces waiting for you.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms with double beds (160x200 cm) with separate doors. For those interested, there is a sofa bed in the living room for an additional 2 people. In this arrangement, you can host a total of 6 people.
In the living room with a kitchenette, you will find a table for 6 people and a TV.
There is also a ski room for 6 pairs of skis with boot heaters and a washing machine at your disposal.
In the bathroom with a shower, there is also a sauna (open from December '24). The cost of using it is PLN 50/h.
You can prepare your own meals using the well-equipped kitchenette or enjoy the benefits of the area you are in. Cafes, restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Krupówki Street is a 5-10 minute walk away.
Where can you go for a walk?
Forests on Gubałówka. Just skip the cable car station to enter a land full of tangled paths, streams, and above all – peace and quiet.
If you decide to visit Krupówki, you will get there in max. 10 minutes. You can also go to Krzeptówki or through Koziniec and Jaszczurówka to Kuźnice, passing Zakopane-style houses on the way.
Tatra National Park begins 2.5 km from us. Drop in for picturesque landscapes and animal watching.
Kasprowy Wierch. You have to see the view from it at least once in your life, although we know from experience that once is not enough and you come back for more times.
Valley of Five Lakes with glacial lakes: Przednie, Małe, Wielkie, Czarne and Zadni. If you are a bit lucky, you may be able to spot the sixth one – Wole Oko. While in the valley, be sure to visit Siklawa.
Take a walk (or bike ride) through the Chochołowska Valley or the Kościeliska Valley. One of the charming branches of the Kościeliska Valley is the Kraków gorge, famous for its Dragon's Den (an almost forty-meter cave).
There is a shepherd's hut and real oscypek cheese on Polana Rusinowa. There is a panoramic view of the Tatras and sheep are grazing there.
If you are hungry for highland folklore, we can recommend some cool and unconventional events that take place in Zakopane:
- the competition for the Najśwarniejsom Góralecke, or Miss Podhale - the girls have to prove themselves in the tasks of a typical farmwife and the one chosen is not only beautiful, but also the most resourceful,
- Przednówek in Polany - an event held in March and intended to show the old pastoral customs of the highlanders - it is a true celebration of local folklore and tradition,
- Festiwal Folkloru Ziem Górskich - an international event lasting 7 days, during which highlanders from all over the world present their cultural heritage,
- Złote Kierpce - a children's festival of music bands.
For a solid dose of culture, we also refer you to the Tatra Museum. This is where you will discover the old spirit of Podhale and explore, among other things, the history of old wooden houses in the Zakopane style. Its first example is the "Koliba" Villa built according to the design of Stanisław Witkiewicz, open to the public. Also visit the Gallery of 20th Century Art in the "Oksza" villa and the Władysław Hasior Gallery.
What’s there for employees?
The apartment has high-speed internet and a small desk in the bedroom, and you can also work at the table in the living room.
