In the forest, on a hill like a lighthouse, a cottage shines. It is a shelter not only for sailors, although Lake Kiełpińskie is only 300 meters away. It is a refuge for couples on intimate trips, for families looking for swinging among the trees or close friends, in a configuration such as 2+2. There is a chance that you will feel really at home with us and at the entrance you will change your shoes for slippers, for which we will be very grateful.
You do not have to know what a tiller is to appreciate the lake of class 2 cleanliness, the towering pines surrounding the house, the company of squirrels, the fireplace by the panoramic window and the terrace for coffee and jogging. Since you already know that the lake can be seen from the edge of the plot, you must also know that you can walk and cycle around it. And it is worth it, because the Welski Landscape Park stretches around it. So you can actively plan your free time and get in a kayak to go down the Wel River. Although, according to our Guests, it is best to do some big shopping in advance, hide away in Paprotka and, apart from walks to the lake, not move anywhere. Well, maybe from the couch, to the reading room, to the terrace and back.
On the ground floor you will find a spacious living room with a fireplace, a soft sofa, a small reading room with board games. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom with a shower.
There are two rooms on the mezzanine. A bedroom with a double bed and a room with a sofa bed, a work area and a view of the forest
On the very large (45 m2) terrace you can enjoy your morning coffee and evenings by the fire under the stars.
To soothe your senses, we offer a forest bath in a tub with a jacuzzi.
In the cottage we have taken care of a well-equipped kitchen so that you can prepare your own meals. We also recommend visiting Rybaśka Restaurant in Koszelewo, Szlachecka Restaurant at Pałac Mortęgi or Bar Jednorożec in Lidzbark.
For convenience, you can do your shopping on the way to your vacation and not worry about supplies throughout the trip.
If you feel like taking a break from cooking, let us know, we will prepare a basket with local products for you.
There is a chance that you will not leave the terrace, hammock or private forest, but if you want to get active, the area is full of hiking and cycling trails. You can swim, winter swim, fish and even kayak on the Wel River.
In winter, relaxation can be sleepy, by the fireplace and with a view of the private forest, or active. You can try your hand at the ski slope at the Kurza Góra Ski Resort.
This is the largest ski resort in northern Poland, with three illuminated ski slopes, a winter amusement park for the youngest, an ice rink, a ski school and the largest snow factory in Europe :)
We will also help you organize a winter sleigh ride with torches! Just let us know well in advance.
Paprotka is located in the heart of the Welski Landscape Park near Lake Kiełpińskie (300 meters from the cottage) and the rushing Wel River.
Nearby:
- Lake Kiełpińskie, which is one of the few lakes completely surrounded by forests that cover its steeply sloping shores. A paradise for fishing enthusiasts, you can catch fish such as: perch, bream, bream, roach, tench or pike. There is a tourist trail and over 20 bicycle routes around the lake!
- Walkers can walk around the lake, the route takes about 4 hours, but the views are unforgettable.
- River Wel - kayaking on the Wel River has been a very popular and interesting form of active recreation for years. While kayaking, you can discover the world from a completely new perspective. The surrounding wild nature, silence and peace will allow you to fully relax and take a break from everyday life. Light effort while rowing and the kilometers covered will be a source of unusual impressions and great satisfaction! Wel consists of sections of varying degrees of difficulty, from easy to very difficult, even of a mountainous nature, e.g. Piekiełko Reserve.
- Welski Landscape Park - there are four nature reserves located in the park: "Bagno Koziana" for the protection of marshes and peat bogs near Lake Jeleń; "Piekiełko" for the protection of the Wel River gorge with its sloping banks; "Ostrów Tarczyński" for the protection of forests and birds staying on the peninsula between Lakes Grądy and Tarczyńskie; "Lake Neliwa" for the protection of the lake and the adjacent marshes and peat bogs.
