Do you know the story of Dick Proenneke? At the age of 52, he moved to Alaska and built a cabin in the middle of nowhere with his own hands. He returned to the city only 30 winters later. And although it is difficult to find Alaskan landscapes in the Lublin region, we also found a hideaway from the rest of the world here. A forest house that has survived 5 generations and that we did not want to change above all. Slowly, with respect for history and materials, we brushed the floors, converted an old utility room into a bedroom, and created a natural refrigerator in the basement.

For our Uroczysko, we are looking for sensitive Guests who will become part of the forest for the duration of their stay. They will leave the speakers at home, say “hello neighbor” to the beavers and let the night be really night, without turning on unnecessary lights.

In a house from 1897, which we have been restoring to a better shape for several years :)

The entire farm in Chojniak has over 4 hectares of area, and the house itself is about 100 m2. On the ground floor there is a bedroom, bathroom, dining room with kitchen and living room. In turn, the attic is an open space, with a bed and a place to work (desk, two monitors). We can accommodate max. 4 guests.

We are constantly working in "our forest" to renovate other parts of the farm - the granary, cellar and barn. It may happen that during your stay we will have to carry out some field work, but we will always ask you about such a possibility.

The nearest neighbors are over 200 m away, they are not visible thanks to the trees.

The house has an equipped kitchen, and verified restaurant and shop addresses are provided below.

First of all, our place is conducive to boredom in silence. There are forests all around, and not even an asphalt road leads to the cottage itself. A stream flows next to us and a beaver swamp spreads out.

Bird lovers will have their eyes and ears full of work, because hawks, yellow warblers, red robins, flycatchers and tiny wrens all drop in for a visit. While having coffee in the garden, we like to turn on the “Merlin Bird ID” application to better recognize our bird neighbors.

And we could probably tell you that a bicycle trail runs through the village next door (“Szlak Ziemi Łukowskiej”) or that there is a SPA zone in Żelechów. But it’s best to just be here. In silence, without a plan and with the forest outside your window.

We are very keen to respect the nature around us and not to make noise. This is one of the reasons why we decided to invite families with older children - over 12 years of age.

We may be in the woods, but we have stable fiber optic internet, WiFi, and LAN ports in the rooms. Plus a desk in the attic, two monitors. And that silence...
