Come with us to the village of Prysk, where we will introduce you to the oldest house. The listed wooden cottage has prepared a surprise for both conservationists and us due to its age. We thought we could date it to the middle of the 18th century, but then where! Research has shown that it is even 100 years older than we thought. And so now we know that the core of the house dates from the second half of the 17th century and the younger part from 1752. To be that many years old must be really cool! And I can proudly say that this cottage has been an important member of our family for several generations.
As the cottage is a listed monument, its restoration, which took 6 years, was supervised by an authorized worker. We have preserved all the original elements and technologies - from thresholds, baroque handles, doors, floors, beams, rafters to the joints between the beams. There is also clay plaster, lime coating and traditional wooden gables. There was also an atypical group window, through which he views the contemporary world. Who knows, maybe a glass painter once sat under that window... and today you can sit here.
In any case, we want to treat you to the magic of cottage living - like in the old days, when you had to chop wood to start a fire and wait a while for it to catch fire, or go to a well for living water. When it wasn't enough just to click the switch or turn the faucet. But don't worry, we have electricity and water, we just want to give you the right atmosphere. Admire the view of the houses scattered at the foot of the mountains, the old varieties of trees in the garden or go to the forest only 50 meters from the cottage. How you spend your free time is up to you. However, it is definitely worth slowing down, turning off and tuning your signal to nature…

I live on the border of three protected landscape areas - Lusatian Mountains, Labské Pískovce and České středohoří. In a landscape where the glassmaking tradition meets a magical landscape. I moved permanently to the north of Bohemia precisely because of the authenticity and hospitality of the local people, because of the wild nature and complete peace. And also because of the house, which has been handed down for generations. An old house with a soul. For 6 long years, I gradually reconstructed the house together with my husband and children, and since it is a cultural monument, the repair of the house was all the more complicated. We approach the house with humility, as well as the surrounding landscape and local community.
