At a glance
When you go down from the attic in the morning, you can see the ball of the rising sun. On a clear day, you can watch the colors change from gold and silver to orange and pink. As you can imagine, this is where the name Słoneczny Domek comes from. Even the least sentimental tough guy will not pass by the sun's journey along the walls indifferently.
I built the cottage in Rostki because my mother was born here, whose family was resettled from Vilnius after World War II. I have always been interested in these parts. Rostki was first Prussian, then Polish, and various influences can be seen in the local architecture. It is authentic. I wanted my cottage, although new, to fit into this Masurian landscape. In addition to it, I offer you private access to the lake with its own pier and green area where you can organize picnics. And if you dream of a night closer to nature - also access to a camping trailer by the lake. Come and experience the real Masuria in the sun.

Hi! My name is Agata Mocarska, and I was born in Masuria – a land of lakes, wilderness, and dense forests. I love water; I'm not afraid of swamps or wilderness. I adore the diversity of the surrounding lakes and spaces. But I also appreciate big cities – their pace, opportunities, and rich cultural events. That's why I perfectly understand people who, like me, want to divide their time between seemingly opposing worlds: nature and modernity.
On the one hand, there's the desire for silence, for being in the forest, for living close to nature. On the other, there's the need for comfort, good food, hot water, and appliances that make everyday life easier. These don't have to be mutually exclusive.
I'm an artist. I believe in art and its therapeutic power. For me, it's not the whim of bored neurotics, but the deepest manifestation of our humanity. Art is created wherever people are – regardless of language, status, or location.
I build installations in public spaces. Sometimes these are large-scale projects, lifted by a crane, sometimes smaller ones, designed for interiors. Over the years, I've learned how to work with building materials and greatly value working with contractors – perhaps because I respect their knowledge and craftsmanship.
A few years ago, I built the Sunny House in Rostki – a place that holds immense significance for me. The name is no coincidence – light pours in from every direction. Sunrise can be seen from some windows, sunset from others.
It is to the light – and the sun – that I decided to pay tribute. This is how the idea for the "Sun Salutation" installation was born.
I fire porcelain scales myself. I cast the sun globe in brass. The installation was created with financial support from the Marshal's Office of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
