If you are wondering where the Polish capital of the Orient is, you can consider your search closed: in Łódź. This is where one of the partially revitalized tenement houses in the heart of the city hides an apartment where you will feel like you are in a desert yurt. Only much more beautiful and much more comfortable. Imagine that you are entering a courtyard that is still very "Łódź" through a carefully renovated gate. You enter a cage that has not yet been touched by a painter, you go through the door of the apartment and... you have the impression that you have been transported to another world. And now you find yourself in an interior inspired by the desert; then in a living room with historic Spanish shutters, which are now a wall separating the yoga platform. Outside the window, a view of the historic building; from the balcony, there is a landscape of the city with its cafes and restaurants. Did you move from Africa through Spain to Italy? How could I not fall in love with this place? Can I not show it to you? I invite you to a blissful refuge that, in addition to traveling through time and space, provides unforgettable memories of very relaxing moments.
The Orient Desert Apartment is located in a partially revitalized tenement house (front) in the center of Łódź, built in 1897; with a view of the historic Bank building and the famous Woonerf 6th August. From the perfectly located corner balcony to the famous Piotrkowska Street with its atmospheric and green restaurants, cafes and pubs, you have only about 300 m walk.
At your disposal in Orient Desert there is as much as 81 m², including:
- master bedroom with a double bed and a comfortable futon mattress;
- study with a single bed,
- bathroom,
- separate kitchen
- spacious living room with a yoga platform separated from it by historic Spanish shutters.
The inspiration for the project was the oriental desert motif. On a daily basis, when the apartment is not available for booking, I live here: the owner, and my cat. The former will make sure that you feel at home with friends, and the latter will leave some of her hairs, which is not without significance for allergy sufferers. :)
What you can expect:
- comfortable beds,
- beautiful interior,
- comfortable and relaxing space,
- candles, scented waxes and oils,
- eco-cosmetics (soap, shower gel, shampoo),
- fully equipped kitchen (including a piston espresso machine, grinder and specialty coffee beans),
- TV with Netflix,
- plants to water on the balcony in the summer,
- exercises in climbing the stairs to the second floor.
The atmosphere in the apartment is perfect for a slow-paced rest. Remember, however, that the city with all its charms stretches out outside the window:
- sometimes someone had such a good time in a nearby club that they are still singing with joy when they go home,
- night buses pass on the corner (but you are guaranteed to return to the Orient at any time),
- apartments are being built opposite the yoga window (you can watch how apartments are being built, where history is later taking place),
- the tenement house is located in a revitalization area (I love watching how once forgotten Łódź becomes more beautiful every day) - which in practice means that you will find many gems after renovation nearby (like on Włókiennicza Street - you must visit it!), but you will also sometimes see buildings still covered with nets, which are being worked on restoring their glory.
The apartment has a large, fully equipped kitchen so you can eat exactly how you like. It's also a nice opportunity to cook with your travel companions and drink your favorite drinks. I guarantee that you will all fit and each of you will have a large piece of counter to yourself. If, on the other hand, you decide that you don't want to miss the opportunity to taste all those delicious dishes from nearby restaurants, you can walk to the place of your choice or use the numerous portals to have them delivered right to your door. The advantage of being located in the city center is not only the huge selection, but also very modest delivery fees.
Hey, you're in the eye of the storm of architecture, art and entertainment!
The apartment is located in the middle of the famous Piotrkowska Street. From here, you have about the same distance to the Unicorn Stables as to Manufaktura, only in opposite directions. Guides to Łódź and a book of 99 places worth visiting are waiting for you. You can sightsee, you can party, go to the largest billiard club in Europe; you can try new restaurants every day, go to the cinema and theatre, absorb art, go to concerts at the Academy of Music, Wytwórnia or Atlas Arena, go for a walk with a guide; swim on the Fala, watch elephants being fed in the Orientarium, relax in the Palm House, have a coffee on the corner at Fave Coffee or Brick, discover all the murals and art installations nearby.
You can watch your favourite series on Netflix, read a book in bed, relax in the bathtub. You can also do yoga, meditate, check which scent of candle and soy wax you like the most or sit in silence. Stand in the sun on the balcony with a cup of your favorite coffee or tea overlooking the monuments and feel like you're in Italy or Paris; listen to music. And if you visit during the week, you can watch the construction of luxury apartments next door from the window. Maybe you'll see something that their future residents will never see. ;)
