Spokojowisko used to be a meadow. After more than 40 years without human interference, you will find a forest here with over 20-meter trees, which are home to many birds. At the end of the plot, at the bottom of a small valley, a creek flows lazily (isn't that a beautiful word?). And how can you not fall in love with such a place? This is where the dream of a hideaway perfect for catching a break from a busy life separated from nature was born. Adamów-Wieś, the town where our cottages are located, has its own summer resort character and unique microclimate. This is where the name comes from - a health resort with peace, or Spokojowisko.
You will find 2 cottages here, Czajka and Sójka, which differ in their interior design elements. At first, we wanted to refer architecturally to the local development of the PRL summer cottages of the Brda type, but our plans were thwarted by... the currently permissible angle of the roof pitch. Ultimately, it was a good thing, because in this way a unique design was created - a shape that can be best compared to an inverted diamond. Its walls do not rise perpendicularly from the ground, but have an obtuse angle. The solution is subtle, but the lack of straight walls in the middle and large windows optically open the space. You even get the impression that the forest is breaking through. How does it feel? You have to see for yourself.
Each cottage is designed for 2 people, so that your stay is as comfortable as possible. On the ground floor there is a living room with a dining room. We have taken care of a large table, good for celebrating meals together, a game of board games or a travel office. In addition, you will find a goat there to relax by the fire, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. The mezzanine is intended for the bedroom area. Through the roof windows you can see the stars perfectly.
However, our favorite place is the so-called bay window, a special window protruding from the body of the building, whose wide windowsill is an ideal place for lazing around, reading and an afternoon nap.
A large terrace with furniture for relaxation and a view of the forest adjoins the cottage. The Sójka cottage also has a wood-fired hot tub - no matter whether during the summer heat or winter evenings, a relaxing bath is always a good idea.
The interior is decorated in muted, earthy colours and natural materials, because these are the best for calming our minds and senses. We searched for furniture at design fairs, among others, 2 chairs came with us from a holiday in Denmark, armchairs were found in a "garbage arbour" and restored by Maciek, and the shelf in the living room was designed and made entirely by him.
We invite adults with their animal companions to Spokojowisko - both dogs and cats. The houses are located about 20 meters apart. For now, bushes and trees are a natural fence, but in the near future a small fence will also appear, so as not to cause unnecessary dog fights. The entire Spokojowisko is fenced, also on the river side. Sometimes wild boars and other forest animals walk there. Each cottage has a separate entrance and a gate towards the river, which guarantees the greatest possible privacy for our guests.
The peace and quiet is located on the edge of the forest, and there are other summer houses around. If your definition of peace and quiet means being in total wilderness, then we sincerely inform you that we cannot fulfill this need, with us you will sometimes hear the sounds of summer life.
The cottages have their own, well-equipped kitchens. On site you will find all the necessary utensils, apart from the obvious ones like pots, also a garlic press and peeler. There is a microwave with a grill option, but if you are a baking fanatic, you will have to bring your own baked goods - there is no oven. If your trip cannot do without baked triangles with liquid cheese inside dipped in ketchup/mayonnaise, don't worry, we have a toaster ;) Coffee lovers can use the French press or drip coffee maker and specialty coffee. And all the dirty dishes will be washed for you by the dishwasher.
There is no shop in our town, but a longer walk will be enough to reach the local grocery store or a short drive to reach Biedronka and slightly larger stores in Radziejowice.
However, if you prefer to focus on food than cooking, you will find several different options within a 20-minute drive. Our favorites are RybarBar and the restaurant at the Afrodyta Business & SPA Hotel.
The peace and quiet area was created as a reaction to overstimulation, which is why a sense of boredom can be a sign of returning to balance ;) But seriously, you will find everything you need here to break away from everyday life and regenerate. First of all, contact with nature - just looking at "the green" allows you to reset, and add to this the local ASMR, i.e. the rustle of leaves in the wind, bird trills and the gentle splashing of water in the stream just behind the fence. At night, you can stare at the stars, which is also a nice entertainment.
There are several places to laze around in the cottage - you can stay in bed with a book, stretch out on the couch and look at the fire burning in the stove, lie down in the bay window overlooking the trees or sit on the terrace.
We encourage fans of competition to play board games - we have selected those that work best with two players. The games we have selected are waiting for you in each of the cottages. We love playing, but we don't have much time for it every day, so we decided that this type of trip is the best opportunity for a game together and healthy competition. ;)
In the Sójka cottage there is a tub with a hydromassage, which puts you in a blissful state all year round. You control the water temperature by adding the right amount of wood to the fireplace.
If you feel like taking a walk, just make a short jump over the creek and walk slightly uphill to walk along the forest paths. A slightly longer walk (still 10 minutes) will take you to the Grzymek Reservoir, where you can both sunbathe "in the wild" and run along the water. There are also good bike routes in the area.
If you are counting on cultural experiences, it is worth checking if there is a concert at the nearby Palace in Radziejowice or going to Żyrardów to the Linen Museum. If you love water fun and slides, Suntago, the largest amusement park of its kind in Poland, is a 20-minute drive from Spokojowisko. Another water attraction is Deepspot, the deepest diving pool in Europe (15 minutes by car). After such experiences, a rest in Spokojowisko is a must!
What’s there for children?
Spokojowisko is a place designed for adults. Our idea was to create a space that soothes the senses, allows you to break away and at the same time focus on yourself. When we are with children, we think about their needs first, forgetting about ourselves. In Spokojowisko we wanted to put ourselves first, which we strongly encourage you to do.
What’s there for employees?
Although Spokojowisko was supposed to be a place to get away from everyday life, we noticed that working with a view of the forest or grass under your feet is much more pleasant than from an office or home. That's why you will find WiFi here (not yet fiber optic, but the process of connecting the entire village is underway), where you can easily make doorbells. If you like working on the couch or lying down, we especially recommend the bay window. However, if you like notebooks, cards, highlighters, in short you need a lot of space on the table, you will easily fit in here. And after work, we recommend putting your phone and computer aside and soothing your senses.
PS The phone coverage in the cottages is very poor, so inside we recommend using Whatsapp, Messenger or another application that you use to make calls.
