Don't be surprised if your navigation system takes you into the forest. The last section of the road to us leads through a picturesque path. After all, this is a former forester's lodge of the Mrągowo Forest District. For years, forester Zawierucha lived there, and recently we have been residing here. It took us three years to renovate the barn and the first floor of the forester's house, equip the buildings with atmospheric furniture and arrange them so that you feel elegant here. In addition to comfortable sleeping and shared breakfast on the terrace, we add Masurian silence, a lake behind the forest, and instead of neighbors, berries and mushrooms right under your nose.

The barn is a place for groups (max. 14 people) for family and friendly holidays, workshops, yoga trips, work-locations, integrations. The first floor of the forester's house is a more intimate attic for 7 people. So you can gather a smaller team and settle in the house or organize a noisy meeting in the forester's barn. Whether you choose one way or another, we can assure you that you will not lack intimacy. There are plenty of places to hide away, but also to sit together. In addition, the cleanest lake Piłakno, SUP board, herbs in the garden, wonderful tap water to drink, and a neighboring agritourism with home-cooked dinners.

Being a ruiner gives a lot of satisfaction. But you definitely have to love it. We fell in love with a forester's lodge in the middle of the Masurian forests, in a small clearing, five minutes from the lake, and we rolled up our sleeves. The renovation of two buildings took 3 years. We didn't use an architect's help, we acted according to our intuition and taste. That's why almost every piece of furniture carries a story. There is a kitchen counter and lamps from a pet shop that didn't survive the test of time, beautiful furniture from a collector's house - which was turned into a kindergarten, beautiful wooden chairs from a boutique hotel in Sopot. But there is also furniture from the Hilton Hotel in Gdańsk and glass works by the famous Sopot studio "Barańska Design", as well as items from the liquidated CEPELII Store from Gdynia. There is also a cleaned, beautiful, brick and stone wall of a barn and there are 2 old original lamps that gave light to this place before we showed up there.

  • The Piłakno Forester's Lodge is located in Masuria, in a quiet area surrounded by forests and lakes. Here's how to get there: From Warsaw (approx. 210 km, 3.5 hours drive): Leave Warsaw on the S8 expressway towards Białystok. Near Ostróda, turn onto the S51 towards Olsztyn. Continue on national road no. 16 towards Mrągowo. In Mrągowo, turn onto the local road towards Pieceki and Borowy. In Borowe, follow the signs to the Piłakno Forester's Lodge. From Gdańsk (approx. 180 km, 3 hours drive): Leave Gdańsk on the S7 expressway towards Elbląg. Near Olsztynek, turn onto the S51 towards Olsztyn. Continue on national road no. 16 towards Mrągowo and then Borowy. From Poznań (approx. 390 km, 5.5 hours drive): Take the A2 motorway towards Warsaw, then exit onto the S5 expressway. Head towards Toruń, then take national road no. 15 through Brodnica to Mrągowo. In Mrągowo, turn onto the local road leading to Borowe. Important information for guests: The last section of the road to Leśniczówka is a picturesque, forest path. It is worth driving slowly and carefully, especially in winter or during rainy weather. There is a parking lot for guests on site.

The nearest bus stop is in Piecki, which is about 8 km from the Piłakno Forester's Lodge. It takes about 10-15 minutes by car to get from Piecki to the Forester's Lodge. There are buses to Piecki from Mrągowo, but it is worth checking the current timetable, as the routes may be limited. You can order a taxi or arrange a transfer to the Forester's Lodge on site.

  • Train: Mrągowo, (18 km), The nearest major train station is Mrągowo. From there you can get to Borowe by taxi or use the local buses. Alternatively, there are buses from Olsztyn to Mrągowo and Piecki, from where you can get to Borowe..

    1. General conditions
    1.1. These regulations define the rules of booking and staying at the Leśniczówka Piłakno facility
    1.2. Making a reservation means that the guest accepts these regulations.
    1.3. The regulations are available on the website www.lesniczowkapilakno.pl
    2. Reservation
    2.1 The condition for booking is to pay a deposit of 20% of the cost of the stay within

    3 days of making the reservation.
    2.2 Failure to pay the deposit within the specified time will result in the cancellation of the reservation
    2.3 The remaining amount for the stay is payable in cash, BLIK or by express transfer on the day of

    arrival before check-in.

    3. Cancellation of reservation
    3.1 In the event of shortening the stay during its duration, the fee for the stay is not refunded
    3.2 In the event of cancellation of the stay at least 3 weeks before the stay - the deposit
    is forfeited or can be used for another reservation.
    3.3 In the event of cancellation of the stay 2 weeks or less before the stay, the deposit is forfeited.

    4. Arrival and departure
    4.1 The accommodation day begins at 2:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and ends at 10:00 a.m.

    4.2 The guest is required to show an identity document upon check-in.

    4.3 The guest is required to confirm the estimated time of arrival at least 2 days

    in advance and update the arrival time no later than 2 hours before arrival.

    4.4 At the time of check-in, the facility charges a PLN 500 deposit to secure claims for damage, destruction of the facility's equipment and smoking on the premises, or failure to clean the facility.

    4.5 Late check-out is possible after prior arrangement with the facility staff and may

    incur a set fee.
    4.6 Failure to return the property by 10:00 will result in an additional fee of PLN 100 for each commenced hour.

    4.7 The property will be handed over and returned in the presence of the Owner or a person authorised by them.
    4.8 Before leaving the property, all items must be left in order,

    and waste must be disposed of in the garbage cans located in front of the entrance gate to the property.
    5. Rules of Stay
    5.1 The property is subject to night-time silence from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

    5.2 Guests are obliged to maintain order in and outside the property.
    5.3 Smoking and e-cigarettes are prohibited in all areas of the property.

    5.4 Pets are allowed only after prior arrangement with the property staff and are subject to an additional fee of PLN 100 for a stay of up to 7 days. Animals remain under the constant care and control of their owner. Animals may not disturb the peace and safety of third parties.

    Animal owners are obliged to take them for walks outside the premises in order to ensure that they meet their physiological needs and in the event of accidental

    contamination of the premises by an animal, they are obliged to clean up and restore the

    place to its original condition.

    5.5 The tenant is financially liable for any damage or

    destruction of objects and technical devices caused by the fault of the

    tenants and visitors. Parents or guardians are liable for damage caused by children.

    5.6 The guest is obliged to cover the costs of repairing or replacing the damaged

    item until the day of departure. 5.7 On the premises of the facility it is prohibited to: use open fire, vandalize equipment,
    infrastructure of the area and interfere in any way with the decor of the facility, the surrounding
    greenery, disturb the order on the premises, litter the area, light the grill outside the
    areas designated for this purpose, in particular on the terraces, bring in items that may
    pose a threat to the safety of fellow participants.

    5.8 Bedding, blankets and other elements of the facility's equipment may not be used outside the facility.

    It is prohibited to spread bedding, blankets, pillows that are part of the facility's equipment
    outside the facility on the grass, terrace or in other places.

    5.9 When using the fireplace, only wood intended for this purpose may be used.

    The lit fireplace must be supervised by an adult.

    5.10 When using the bonfire, wood prepared for this purpose or brought from the forest yourself may be used. Wood prepared for the fireplace may not be used for the bonfire.

    5.11 We require that you maintain order and cleanliness inside and outside the facility and take care of
    items and use them in accordance with their intended purpose, without
    deteriorating their technical condition.

    5.12 You must segregate rubbish on the premises.

    5.13 You must remain calm on the premises, not make noise, not consume
    drugs or intoxicants.

    5.14 Children should only play on the premises under the supervision of
    adults (parents or guardians)
