It may sound strange, but the ground floor is our favorite part of the house. We look at our feet with the same delight as we do at Tuscan sunsets. 2,500 handmade Graniglia tiles, each different, were originally intended for decorative frames. We bought them blindly and arranged them into a one-of-a-kind mosaic that regularly appears in interior design magazines.

Teracielo is a 14th-century barn, the interior of which I designed with my daughter. The rooms are filled with mementos from our travels, and the outside is a space for lazy relaxation in the Tuscan countryside. You can hide in the shade on the patio, take a leisurely dip in the pool, or plan day trips to Florence or Siena. We recommend a short walk to the Arno River. According to sweet polls, you will find the best ice cream in Italy there! Flavors? Timeless Bronte pistachio, local chestnut, olive oil or basil. We invite you with your family or a group of friends to soak up the sun and enjoy the Italian dolce far niente that has been enchanting us since 2002.

In 2002 we chose TerraCielo as our Tuscan home, it combines what we like the most – local life with delicious cuisine and the proximity of Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Montepulciano. Now we invite you to discover its charms all year round.

The house can accommodate up to 6 people, with a swimming pool and a view of the Valdarno hills that can steal your heart.

Inside you will find:
- 3 bedrooms with bathrooms (two with double beds, the third with double beds that can be pushed together), all with air conditioning,
- living room, dining room, kitchen and fireplace
- small lounge with library on the first floor.

The kitchen is ready for culinary experiments – coffee machine, oven, dishwasher and even a mixer.

The interior, with large windows set in thick stone walls, remains pleasantly cool in summer and cosy in winter. We are surrounded by Mediterranean gardens, olive groves and vineyards.

And outside?

– shaded terrace, perfect for long dinners outdoors.

A few things to know:
– The pool is open until October 1.
– The friendly cats of the neighbours may appear in the area.
– The parking lot is located at the entrance to the property, 80 m from the house, and is well hidden.
– The technical room of the pool is underground and does not interfere with relaxation.
– On the edge of the hill, 80 m from the villa, there is a small annex, sometimes used by the hosts or the cleaning service.

Tuscany is a paradise for gourmets. In the fall, you can expect fresh truffles, in the winter warming, filling dishes, and in the summer some of the best ice cream in Italy – at Cassia Vetus.

The people of our region really pay attention to what they eat, where their food comes from and how to make the most of seasonal ingredients. That's probably why the world's first slow food market was created here. And we ourselves grow a garden with herbs, which you can help yourself to in the spring.

As befits locals, we have a list of trusted places. From local bars and trattorias to intimate restaurants run by true masters of the kitchen. Maybe you'll be tempted to have dinner with an outstanding chef at Barleshin in Montevarchi, lunch at l'Altro Ieri overlooking the olive grove, or try a modern version of Tuscan cuisine at Daniela e Ricardo? These are just a few of the many gems that we will gladly recommend to you on site.

We are in the heart of Valdarno, the Arno Valley, between Florence, Arezzo and Siena. This is a less touristy part of Tuscany, where you can feel like a local and take your time exploring the area. We have neighbours, but it is quiet and private here, yet close to civilisation – 8 minutes by car to the train station and shops, 10 minutes to the motorway.

Spend your day lazily relaxing by the pool, hiking in the hills or horse riding. Art lovers will appreciate the nearby museums and medieval towns, and if you like shopping, luxury outlets are a short drive away.

On the first Sunday of the month, Arezzo becomes a paradise for antique hunters. In Montevarchi, you will find a small but excellent museum of 19th and 20th century sculpture, and right next door – the studio of Swiss ceramicist Christiane Perrochon, where you can watch her creative process and acquire unique works. You can also take a walk in the hills that served as the backdrop for Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, visit the largest rose garden in Europe (Rosario Fineschi), created over 40 years by a rose enthusiast, or simply soak up the atmosphere.

In summer, it is worth heading to the seaside; south of Livorno, there are the rocky coves of Cala Furia, perfect for swimming in crystal clear waters. And if you fancy something sweet, in the neighbouring town, you will find the Cassia Vetus ice cream parlour, which is consistently ranked first in Italian rankings.

There is no shortage of culinary experiences here all year round – from autumn truffle tastings, through olive and grape picking, to hearty winter cuisine. In the colder months, the area is enveloped in a misty calm, and the views look like they were painted. Tuscany always finds a way to seduce with flavours, landscapes and atmosphere.

Children can spend time outdoors, swimming in the pool, walking in the hills or discovering the surrounding nature. Nearby there are tennis and paddle courts and stables offering horse riding. This is a great opportunity to try your hand at riding or spend time actively on the court.

It is also worth going on family trips - to medieval towns, to the antique fairs in Arezzo or to the largest rose garden in Europe.
