Those who say that the heart of the house is the kitchen are not lying. Ours used to be a farmstead, which is why it has so much space. But since we covered it with hand-painted, green tiles from Wiktor Polak's tile factory, which has been operating since 1931, it has become a place for the most joyful and warmest family meetings. We decided that such noble tiles would be a good complement to the traditional Spisz cottage from 1911. It was this cottage that fulfilled our dream of our own house in the mountains - one we had been looking for for years. And when we got to know the area and its surroundings, we could no longer imagine choosing any other place. Over the last 10 years, we have managed to create a cosy atmosphere in this traditional Spisz cottage, which combines the traditions of the region with modernity and comfort. We did not design the house for rent: we made sure that it would please our family and friends. We did not change the layout of the cottage, but we stuck to the traditional one - that is why the rooms on the ground floor and first floor are walk-through. There is a family, warming and casual atmosphere here. And although the mountain trails are calling and there is no end to skiing on the nearby slopes, you can just as easily catch the sun on the porch, warm your feet by the fireplace and think about how life was here 115 years ago.

Łapszanka (Slovak: Lapšanka, Hungarian: Kislápos, German: Kleinlapsch) is a beautiful Spiš village located in a deeply cut and steep valley stretching from Łapsze Wyżne to the Nad Łapszną pass, from which there is a panorama of the Tatras, considered to be the most beautiful of all. From here you can see perfectly the entire chain of Tatra peaks - from the Bielskie Tatras to Osobita, Gerlach, Rysy and the three "rolls" of the Mięguszowieckie Peaks, Świnica, Kasprowy, all the way to Giewont. Before the Tatras there is a vast, spruce-forested massif of the Spiš Magura and a Slovak settlement, Osturnia, located in a deep valley, which you can reach by walking along a picturesque road. This is where in recent years there is a mandatory mountain premium in one of the stages of the Tour de Pologne, the last one before the finish in nearby Bukowina Tatrzańska.
Our house in Łapszanka is unique and different from many located in Spisz or Podhale, which can be rented. Built in 1911, it served its owners and their families for over 100 years. I came here with my husband in 2013 after many years of searching for a place that would fulfill our dreams of an old house in the mountains. The house, the surroundings and the area enchanted us irrevocably. Over the last decade, this place has become a unique oasis for us in the heart of the mountain landscape. During this time, we also got to know our Spisz neighbors, we became close to them and thanks to this we can always count on them.
Now we have decided to share Łapszanka with people who, like us, are looking for unique, non-standard places, but meet the requirements of the present times. Our house has all the modern conveniences, fiber optic internet with Wi-Fi, satellite TV with Smart TV, Finnish sauna, coffee bean machine, ping-pong table, board games and many more.
